Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
1. Our thoughtfully crafted itineraries allow you to explore multiple countries without needing air travel, significantly reducing your carbon footprint while offering a seamless and eco-friendly journey.2. We prioritize collaborating with hotels that utilize solar energy for water heating. With Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan enjoying some of the highest numbers of sunny days, we aim to harness this abundant resource to reduce reliance on nuclear energy and promote a greener future.
3. We primarily use vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), which significantly reduces air pollution compared to traditional fuels. This choice reflects our commitment to promoting cleaner and more sustainable travel.
4. Some of the hotels use reusable bottles for shampoo, balm, and liquid soaps, to avoid buying them in plastic single-use containers, thus decreasing plastic waste.
5. To reach the Symphony of Stones natural monument, which is located in the deep gorge, we use an electric vehicle, which is operated by the local community. Thus providing an opportunity for local people to make an income from tourism and decrease air pollution.
People
1. Whenever possible, we partner with family-run boutique hotels that source fresh products, fruits, and vegetables directly from the local community for breakfast. Many of these hotels also feature small souvenir shops offering locally handcrafted items, providing artisans with a platform to share their culture and craftsmanship while supporting the local economy.2. We promote meaningful cultural interactions by organizing two family lunches in Georgia and Armenia, giving travelers the unique opportunity to interact with the samily members, see traditions and interpersonal communication way and the hierarchy in families, experience authentic hospitality, and savor traditional cuisine.
3. We hire local drivers wherever we need a 4-wheel drive car to reach sites, thus making a living for the local people and earning from the short drives, where the asphalt roads are not in good condition and are not good for minibusses. On this trip, mud volcanoes are not reachable without a 4-wheel drive car.
