Planet
CARBON REDUCTION1. This is our overland tour where we will not fly and we will use a bus to get from Kathmandu to Lhasa and back.
2. Nepal is a country where solars panels are used by every household, hotel, homestay or teahouse to heat hot water for showers, charge all devices, cooking in the kitchen and so on. Also Nepal accumulates energy from Hydropower plants as this country is full of mountain rivers.
3. In first 6 days we will actively use our e-vehicle to move around the Kathmandu Valley and during sightseeing. For longer distance we will use private bus that can fit all group participants and the team in one vehicle.
4. We will take beautiful walks during sightseeing in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Panauti. These towns are the best for walking tours. Also we will have short hikes in Nepal to explore villages and temples in Panauti, Bhaltali and Namobuddha areas.
5. We will have e-vehicle during sightseeing in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, also airport transfers.
6. Nepal and Tibet are the best friendly countries for vegetarians and vegans. Every eatery, cafe and restaurant offers wide selection of suitable meal plan as due to religious beliefs, many locals are vegans and vegetarians.
7. Western food doesn't have big influence in Nepal and Tibet. We will eat only regional and seasonal products that are grown by locals. Local authentic cuisine has a lot to satisfy and surprise everyone's taste. We also are sure that eating freshly cooked local food is better for your health.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
1. In Nepal we will be staying at local hotels and guesthouses, which are hostirical building that are well preserved. Every small local business is using renewable energy for cooking and charging devices and uses regional locally grown foods.
2. This trip contributes the most for local communities as the entire team consists of local guides and drivers.
3. We always brief our participants during welcome dinner our good initiatives and how they can reduce their impact.
4. We have expert nature guides in National parks. They are locals who have been living there since childhood and we encourage their studies by providing them with extra trainings.
People
LOCAL ECONOMY1. All our accommodation is only locally-owned.
2. We are local travel company and we employ only local guides and drivers, we will also visit villages on this tour, there will be plenty of places with local shops where you can get all kinds of things as gifts made by women and young artists.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
1. Our team fully consists of local Nepalese and one Ukrainian living in Nepal.
2. We are generating good opportunities for most vulnerable ones: our employees are freshly graduated students who struggle to find jobs without experience. We provide a training for them, they gain needed experience, we pay fair salary. Also we run homestay tours where we give opportunities for women in remote villages to generate extra income from providing their houses to stay.
3. We pay fair daily wages, provide insurance, meals and accommodation for the trip as we want to keep the team and build trust with long-term collaboration. Most of our guides are staying with us for more than 10 years.
4. We ignore the cast system in Nepal and accept every professional regardless of age and cast, or gender.
5. This trip is LGBTQ friendly.
6. Particularly this trip is not suitable for people with limited mobility as we will be driving to remote places and we will be having day hikes to access the final destination. Unfortunately, Nepal has lots to improve in that service yet.
7. We operated once Trip for a Trip Scheme. We took kids from a local school to visit Pokhara city.
