Description of Botswana & Zambia family safari
Want to take the family to Botswana and Zambia, but don’t know where to start? Join this small group holiday that winds from Livingstone, the adventure capital of Zambia, to the game reserves of the Botswanan Okavango Delta.
The activity options are what’ll keep the kids busy. At Victoria Falls, you’ll set out on an optional white water rafting trip on the Zambezi River. A more sedate boat ride across the Zambezi will deliver you to Chobe National Park – the heart of elephant country. You’ll also get the chance to stay on a houseboat on the Okavango River, where the tidal islands and lakes are always changing, along with the wildlife that relies on it. Cruise past hippos and basking crocodiles and watch the mokoros fishermen canoe the waters. Moremi Game Reserve is another all-star spot. You’ll get the chance to seek out elusive painted wolves, leopards and lions.
The last night of your family safari is one to remember. Expect stories around a crackling fire, as you and the other families celebrate your last evening with children from a local skill-learning grassroots project.

The pristine wilderness of Botswana with its varied ecosystems offers an unforgettable safari experience. Travelling in a specially equipped safari vehicle we explore the serene beauty of the Okavango delta and the wonderful game parks of the north.Employing a local leader who is a fully trained wildlife guide - seemingly with the ability to spot even the best hidden animals - offers an insight into everyday life in Botswana. Local staff are trained to respect and preserve the environment that we are travelling through, so ensuring that this magnificent region remains an important income source for local communities for future generations.
Our Tour Leaders are all trained by us in the importance of responsible tourism with guidance given on how they can make a difference. This then percolates down through those they deal with.
In addition to the above, we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage. As well as this, we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of UK travel industry bodies Tourism Concern and AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators. As a company we support Cool Earth. Protecting rainforest is one of the most effective actions to tackle climate breakdown. Cool Earth work with indigenous communities empowering them to conserve their forest; keeping CO2 locked in.
