Holiday information

Small group tour, ideal for solos & couples:
Small group travel is not large group travel scaled down. It is modelled on independent travel – but with the advantage of a group leader to take care of the itinerary, accommodation and tickets, and dealing with the language. It’s easy to tick off the big sights independently – but finding those one-off experiences, local festivals, travelling markets and secret viewpoints is almost impossible for someone without the insider knowledge gained from years in the field. Those with a two-week holiday, a small group tour will save valuable planning time.
Diet:
We can cater for vegetarians on this holiday. Sadly we cannot offer vegan food.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Wildlife:
On this safari trip, we have taken care to ensure we are game-watching in the most responsible way. We use a trusted and experienced team who understand the importance of protecting the wildlife. The crew will educate groups about Botswana's conservation efforts in recent history and about it's status as the last safe haven for the African elephant population.

Energy and suppliers:
A highlight of this trip is a stay at Hyena Pan tented camp. This very small and intimate camping experience, offers a natural elephant-trump wake-up call and excellent wildlife viewing over a glass of wine but it's also eco-friendly. Each of the eight tents are solar powered, the camp is run in joint partnership with the local community and 1.5% of revenue is donated to conservation initiatives.

As a travel company we are continually looking for ways to improve and are proud to be ‘Responsible in everything we do’. Education is key, and so all staff, Tour Leaders and partnering suppliers are trained in responsible and sustainable tourism. At our Head Office, we continually strive towards a sustainable and planet-friendly working environment, including having solar panels installed and a company commitment to reducing our plastic usage.

People

A Fair Deal:
Our leaders and crew may come from anywhere in Southern Africa, will know the itineraries well and support our purpose to only have a positive impact on the local communities we visit. The teams working with our groups during this trip are locally recruited including the leaders and drivers and have been trained by an Operations Manager from the UK.

If guests would like to shop for a souvenir then our teams will encourage to buy local and responsibly. We have ample opportunity to visit local markets and eat at locally run restaurants, providing both well needed tourist dollars and much needed local employment.

Travelling with Respect:
This trip is about immersing yourself in nature, experiencing wild encounters up close and seeing the nature of Botswana. For this reason we have a maximum group size of 12 people, to ensure we travel in the most responsible way, minimising impact and disturbance on wildlife, and, very importantly, that we will be welcomed back to each place we visit.

As a company we have valuable and longstanding partnerships with UK charities Toilet Twinning and Send a Cow, plus many smaller initiatives and projects around the world. We’re members of the UK travel industry body AITO because we believe it’s important to share our knowledge and experience, as well as learn from other operators.
