This trip includes Mt Robson, Jasper, Banff, Yoho, Glacier and Mt Revelstoke National Parks where our travellers have the opportunity to experience these wilderness areas and appreciate the delicate natural environments that make them highlights of any trip to western Canada.

We start out by traveling to Wells Gray Park, 5500 sq. kilometres of protected wilderness in Central British Columbia. Bounded on the north and east by the Cariboo Mountains, and on the west by an upland plateau, the Wells Gray Park encompasses a broad spectrum of mountain scenery. The area is abundant in flora and fauna. Caribou, moose, black bear, beaver and wolf freely roam the park. The authentic Wells Gray Guest Ranch, where we set up camp, was built by settlers in the early 1820s and consists of log buildings and natural grounds. Nature walks, horseback riding, hiking, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking, river rafting and especially wildlife viewing are all part of the ranch's daily summer routine. This is the best chance to really get away from the beaten path. An optional overnight canoe trip on peaceful Clearwater Lake with a local naturalist guide is a great opportunity to learn about the area.

On our journey through the Canadian Rockies we stay in tents at locally owned and environmentally responsible campgrounds. We spend out days hiking, wildlife viewing, and discovering the natural beauty of famous Canadian National Parks by environmentally friendly means such as kayaking and mountain biking offered by small local adventure operators. We enjoy local foods and campfires.

As a company we aim to contribute to the environmental preservation of the destinations we visit and to reduce any negative impacts our operations may have. This translates to actions such as using local transport where safe to do so in order to reduce emissions, observing all national and marine park visitor rules and operating a ‘take in, take back out’ waste management system, to name but a few examples. Through our inhouse foundation we also invest money into environmental initiatives that benefit the planet, including restoring kelp forests to help reverse the effects of global warming and protecting endangered species such as sea turtles and elephants.

People

Community:
We travel in small groups of 13 people to minimise the effects that large groups have when visiting remote areas and small villages. It is easier to 'blend in' with a small group and it allows us to stay in smaller properties and eat in more local establishments - where a group of 40-50 would need to eat in more touristy places.

We have an expert Operations based in the USA so our team is fully aware of current affairs. We have found that local operations is a superior way to ensure the quality and safety of our travellers.

Each year we conduct extensive safety audits to ensure our properties comply with local regulations as well as our own safety requirements. We also conduct reviews of our itineraries to ensure they include as much local interaction opportunities as possible, where our travellers can engage with the locals and learn their way of life and the local cultures of the places we visit. These experiences often make our trips unique.
