Description of Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro holiday

This 11 day tailor made holiday in Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro mixes a beautiful blend of cultural enlightenment and natural wonders to create an authentic experience on the Adriatic.

As all accommodation is included you’ll be invited to travel between Dubrovnik, Cetinje, Sarajevo and Mostar as well as visiting traditional rural villages that are way off the tourist map.

From chapels and churches to monasteries and mosques, discovering the region’s religious heritage, via the coexisting places of worship, is an absolute education. Exploring with a guide allows you to appreciate the architecture and the lifestyles that have remained unchanged for generations as well as listening to folklore tales and personal stories recounted along the way.

Boat rides, bike and walking tours, vineyard visits and transfers by road, let you really explore at ground level as you travel from Croatia to Montenegro before crossing the border into Bosnia via the beautiful forests and high mountain passes of Durmitor National Park.

Optional opportunities to go cycling, canyoning or spend a night on the tiles in Budva, allow you to create your own adventure, at your own pace, with warm and welcoming hosts encouraging authentic encounters with local people, away from the crowded hot spots along the coast.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Since Balkan countries are full of nature and most of their cities are small and cozy, we try to organize as many walking or cycling tours around the cities and its surrounding nature as we can. What is most important about this is that we help to protect the environment and wildlife in it. There is however one problem – the public transport connections in Balkan countries are poor. Because of this fact we use vehicles, but only with the purpose of getting our travelers to the main destinations.

While this trip contains walking and cycling it is important we stay hydrated on the way. We always use glass bottles, which are reusable, and we refill them on the fountains we find on the road. Glass bottles are environmentally – friendly and they require low energy inputs in the manufacturing process meanwhile plastic releases harmful chemicals into the air during production.

As we are visiting some of the UNESCO’s world heritage sites on our trip we protect them too. Everything we bring with us, we also take back with us; we never leave garbage or other things there! During the tours we do not endanger ecological processes and systems – we do our best to respect all of the natural resources.

People

We respect both the cultural and the social diversity of the places we visit. We think that this program is the best option for all the people who would like to experience the multicultural diversity of Balkan countries. There are many of different cultures in Montenegro and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

With a hope that our travelers have the best possible experience and that they learn a lot about the countries they have visited during the trip, we always try to find the best possible things to see and try in the country. We have all seen those countries and we know exactly what is worth seeing. We work with local guides and drivers, because who knows the destination better than they do?

For travelers who really want to get the feeling of the Balkan spirit we suggest visiting restaurants which serve local cuisine of Balkan countries. Their food culture is very interesting and you can’t miss that while being on this trip.

On the trip we visit few of the local manufacturers and sellers who make creations by themselves. We always advise our travelers to buy souvenirs they want to buy at these places so they bring home these local crafts to remember this trip.
