How we choose our holidays
As CEO of Responsible Travel, I am lucky to have a fantastic Travel Team who listen and work closely with every customer to find you the perfect trip. But how do we decide what gets to become a Responsible Travel holiday?
We offer trips in over 180 countries. We’ve been curating the best responsible holidays for 23 years. In order to do so we choose our partners, and the people we want to work with to deliver our holidays, very carefully.
We know that you, our customers, want deeper, more enriching travel experiences. By selecting trips that benefit local people and places, we get you closer to both. So, we screen our trips and partners to make sure that they can provide this mutual reward, which we call ‘responsible travel’. You can read more about our screening process here.
Secondly, we are very committed and passionate about travel. We work with highly professional people who think like we do, especially about the need to support the special places and people that we visit, rather than working in tourism only to make money. People like these care for our customers more too.
Sometimes we approach partners because we like the way they think, but most of them approach us – we are the first travel company of our kind and well-known for what we do.
By now we have celebrated our 200,000th customer, and we continue to learn a great deal from your reviews, which we ask for, and publish honest feedback. It’s a learning exercise for us, not a PR one, but we are thrilled that you score them so highly.
So, my favourite trip? Very hard to say, but mostly the next one!
