The most memorable and exciting part of our holiday in Sri Lanka was undoubtedly the sunrise ascent of Sigiriya Rock. Climbing the ancient rock fortress
under the early morning sky was an experience that transcended the ordinary and left an indelible mark on our hearts.
As we ascended the steep staircase, surrounded by the remnants of a once-majestic kingdom, the anticipation grew with each step. The breathtaking
panoramic views unfolding as we reached the summit were ... (more)Natalie Bell

Great to have such a personalised trip based on our interests, and a passionate guide who stayed with us the whole trip. Great choices of eco- conscious trios and hotels, and they steered us away from unethical businesses, which was appreciated.

It was fantastic to spend time with local Maldivians and to get a genuine feel for their country and lifestyle. Another highlight was snorkelling with turtles and manta rays in the crystal clear aquamarine waters off some of the many islands. Probably the sunsets; snorkelling with Jay, crab catching with the team at night and feeding the turtles.
Tips?
Be prepared to see the other side of the Maldives and come to terms with the extent of plastic pollution. For those that have lived in challenging environments, this shouldn’t come as a great surprise, but be prepared to acknowledge generally how little we seem to care about it.
