1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It was all memorable. We covered so much ground from driving through Western Desert to taking a train from Cairo to Aswan, to boat trips in feluccas and motor launches as well as a three night Nile cruise. The hugeness of the Pyramids and anything to do with Ramses II. The forest of columns at Karnak temple and the biblioteca alexandrina2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Our guide was brilliant at finding ways to beat the crowds but that did mean very early starts and unpredictable meal times. We were sure that the new museum in Cairo was open, but it wasn't. When it does open the four nights in Giza at the start of our tour will make sense. As it was we felt a little trapped too far from down town Cairo.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
To some extent. But we were shocked by the amount of disposable plastic used. Everyone drinks water from plastic bottles, and we were given countless ones so that I never used my refillable water bottle. When we had a breakfast or a lunch box everything was in plastic boxes.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Brilliant. And all credit to our guide Ahmed D.Frances Stokes review 9 Oct 2023

As good as a tour of those parts can be. Well-led and organised and food and accommodation excellent, but Egypt is a rather scruffy place - lacking in (apart from the over-visited and overcrowded ancient sites) historic architecture or picturesque towns or villages, with rubble, debris and pylons everywhere and tourists pestered continually by hawkers, and the Nile itself is wide and mostly uninteresting. But good group, good value and socially a good experience.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Howard, we are pleased that you found your trip to be good value, well organised, and that you enjoyed the company of your group, though we are sorry that Egypt might not have been as you were expecting. We look to support local people and communities through the activities we do, places we visit, and staff we employ, and we are happy to hear that you found this to be evident on this trip. We travel in small groups and attempt to reduce the environmental impacts of our trips as far as is possible, too. We’d like to thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Valley of the Kings2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Ask the operator about the optional activities, which you need to do to get full value for this trip. This meant an extra US$347. This was not explained at all well. If you decided not to do the optional activities, very often the alternative was poor.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. Our guide was brilliant.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
For me, the Nile Cruise and also the visit to Karnak temple.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Enjoy watching the vegetation on the Nile Cruise, it is fantastic. Take as many optional tours as you can, but I am not sure about the Abu Simbel one (which I did not take), it was a very long trip and there were enormous crowds making the same trip.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
To a point, I would like to benefit them a bit more on the holiday, but am not sure how.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Very good, the only thing I wonder about is how fresh the air in the boat cabin was, as it was imossible to open a window, so I am not sure how fresh it always was (air conditioning).Caroline Hering review 15 Oct 2018
