1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
In a tour encompassing five countries and nearly five weeks, it's hard to choose just one element that was the most memorable, but I guess it would have to be meeting Ruslan, his golden eagles and hunting dogs. We thought we might just get to have our photo taken with him, but to put on a traditional hunting cloak and fox fur hat, and then hold the golden eagle was incredible (my husband even got on the horse as well).2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You need a strong sense of humour, pateience and resilience to cope with long journeys, poor roads, border crossings (particularly on enteringTurkmenistan), and high temperatures.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Apart from in Uzbekistan tourism is not so widespread and so being able to visit and encourage others to subsequently visit, can only impact the economy of the countries concerned.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
34 days, 5 countries - all post-Soviet states ending in Stan, 12 hotels, 5 local guest houses, 3 yurt camps, 13 single nights, 6 land border crossings, 2 internal flights and 1 PCR test - has to be described in one word - ADVENTUROUS!Amanda Law review 4 Oct 2023

Tajikistan local life in the cattle market and villages. Uzbekistan metro Tashkent Turkmenistan camping at the crater.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure you like meat and potatoes and viewing loads of mosques otherwise this trip is not for you.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I would have liked to spend more time with the people in Turkmenistan as we did in the other two countries.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
