Make sure you understand what's involved, try cycling 100 miles two or three times before booking

Hard to say. I think recycling, reducing plastic waste e.g. by encouraging us to bring our own mugs and separating foil from non recyclables would have been

Excellent. The ship was very comfortable. The Skipper, the Bosun and the Chef were all extremely friendly, skilled and helpful and the food was very good. The scenery, the flora, the hills, walking with the horses, the biking to the Osprey and reindeer parks, the wildlife guide, the historical sites and Rebecca’s meals and
Andy’s knowledge!
Tips?
Make sure you have enough time to explore all the treats in the area. We had 10 days which gave us a chance to taste a bit of everything and leaving still wanting more.

Tips?
Practise walking long distances, and on a variety of terrains, before you head off.
Also, it’s best to be prepared for all types of weather. In Orkney, it can be cold, wet, windy and warm in one day.

Due to the size of the cabins, space is limited and the siting of the bunks is not favourable for taller and less mobile adults. Getting in and out of the tender when going ashore may be an issue for some. (more)June Fallow

The daily programme is not set in stone. The leader will make minor adjustments according to the capabilities and interests of the group, e.g. for photographers who keep stopping to take photos!
