1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Loved the diversity of it! Sleeping in the mountain village cottage under few covers, while strong winds were blowing outside. Walking in Todra Gorge and having thyme tea with Berbers was very nice! Sleeping in the desert and the camel ride to sunset.Visiting medinas. I loved Essaouira. All the trip was well planned!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Have an open mind and enjoy the trip!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, I think so.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was great experience! All local guides were very knowledgeable and good! Special thanks to our tour guide Omar Bouredda for his kindnesses and patience! He was here all the time ready to help with any problem or inquiry, advising us or in the choice of local food or taking us to pharmacy as from the beginning we managed to bring some virus in our group and shared it. He dealt well with our different levels of fitness and offering alternatives. Without him our trip wouldn't be the same!Tracy Saunders review 6 Apr 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Sitting listening to the camels "talking" to one another while the others were on the dune and I was sitting alone with them. Precious moment.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Morocco is a warm, hot country, but, up in the mountains it was very, very cold and the guest house had only a fire to warm us and no heat in the bedrooms. Don't forget to bring warm layers, but if necessary, you can rent a jacket and gloves from a shop down below.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I hope so.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I would give it a 7.5 in general; I would score higher mostly because of Mohammed our guide. One down experience was having my telephone stolen in Marrakesh. It was one of those unfortunate unguarded moments we all try to hard to avoid. While I liked Morocco in general, and the people in particular, I don't think I would return.Elizabeth Standard review 16 Mar 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It was my first time in Morocco and there were so many unexpected things, most astonishing being the fat and happy stray cats and dogs. Moroccans feed them all the time, so they are amazingly relaxed and unafraid of humans. But riding the camel was unforgettable, the best!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Have clothing for both warm and cold conditions and a curious heart.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, by staying in local hotels and using local guides, I felt that my money was going to local people and businesses.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
8.5 out of 10. It would have been nice to have a little more free time, but it was a lot of ground to cover in the time. Also, the hotels/riads were ok to nice in general, but the hot water was not always available.Elizabeth Stelz review 14 Jan 2024
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Learning about the history and culture of Morocco. It's fascinating.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
We went in Dec/Jan. The days are nice and not too cold but the nights, especially in the Sahara desert, are really cold... especially the night in a tent. Also, the accommodations are fine but low or no water pressure and sometimes no hot water should be expected.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It definitely benefited local people.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Very good vacation and our guide was excellent!Colin Duncan review 18 Nov 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
High level walk at Todra Gorge, camel rides at sunset and sunrise at Sahara camp, Rabat.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Ignore advice that shorts are not acceptable in Morocco: times have changed. Customs on arrival in Casablanca: you require not only passport, but your boarding card from your last flight, and name of hotel where you are staying that night. This caused delays as many passengers were not ready to supply all this info. Temperatures at Sahara camp and Atlas mountains not cold enough for warm clothes/sleeping bags. Perhaps we were lucky?3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes: all three4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Superb value. Wonderful, varied itinerary. Brilliant local guides with excellent, clear English and superb knowledge, delivered with humour and evident enjoyment.Kevin Wright review 21 May 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Being immersed in the daily lives and culture of the Moroccan people. We sipped tea with people in their homes. The places where we stayed were guesthouses run by families. We ate family style Moroccan meals made with locally sourced ingredients. We shopped in the medinas with folks purchasing food and goods to support their daily lives.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for the intensity of the trip. Bring hiking poles. You have a couple of opportunities to do laundry so you can pack more lightly. Dress for women is not as strict as suggested by the tour operator. For example, head coverings were not required but modest dress is encouraged. Carry your passport and money in a waist belt. Be careful with the water and be prepared for a bout of the tummy bug.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. We stayed in small, locally owned places and ate in small cafes. We were introduced to local crafts people and encouraged to purchase their wares. Our guide bought large bottles of water so we would not all be purchasing small bottles.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent! Our guide was outstanding, very knowledgeable and highly conscientious.Liesbeth Reyskens review 16 Apr 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
I loved that our guide knew the people we met personally. Family-run hotels greet her like a friend; this is very nice.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It is quite high paced; very little free time off. Make sure they are aware of that.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
For me the environmental impact could be smaller even. I know it’s hard; but they still serve plastic straws to tourists everywhere in a fruit juice, all over Morocco.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Adventurous and high paced; seeiing a lot of different locations.Wayne Wright review 5 Dec 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Fez, Sahara and Todra Gorge hike.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Read up a little on architecture and interior design first.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Very very definitely some funds flowed directly to locals…especially home meals and teas.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent…and our guide was exceptionally outstanding.Nicole Fall review 8 Sep 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Visiting the nomadic family at Todra Gorge. We also really liked our guide Jihad because he was calm, easy going and very kind -- the right qualities for a tour leader bringing together 11 very different personalities in the group.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Bring ear plugs, travel pillow and eye mask. Accommodation is basic and bus journeys are long, so be prepared with headphones, lots of music and podcasts. For vegetarians, bring a few protein bars because there are a few days in the middle of the trip when food becomes just vegetables and cous cous with no other options.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Absolutely4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We had a memorable holiday that made a lifetime of memories. However, the basic holiday option which we picked, might not be right for everyone since there are a few days in the middle of the trip which felt like 'filler days' due to the sheer number of days needed to travel from point to point.Stephanie Chapelliquen review 9 Sep 2021
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Staying with a local family in their village, sharing in homemade meals, and playing with the incredibly charming kids2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Leave room in your suitcase (and/or bring a packable second bag) for all the souvenirs. You likely don’t need as many shoes as you think (hiking boots, flip flops, & walking shoes should suffice), and you’ll have laundry available and/or can hand wash in the sink3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, definitely4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was a great trip, but important for people to be open-minded and leave their expectations at home, this is North Africa after allRichard Peters review 13 May 2019
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The huge variety of activities we did over the two weeks; from castles, the old medinas to Roman ruins, camel riding in the desert to walking in the Atlas mountains.
