Memorable parts?
The history of Iran - it is ancient Persia, a culture over 7,000 years old. The beauty of many of the city squares, monuments and mosques. The joy that Iranians take from their many beautifully -maintained palace gardens.
Tips?
Travel with sensitivity to a different culture. Be courteous - the locals are, and deserve it in turn. Observe the rules and customs in country - especially in and around the mosques. Be patient when dealing with officialdom - many ... (more)Philip Hunt

Everything! I really enjoyed visiting all the sites, meeting locals, and even driving through the country and being able to see the Iranian countryside. The food
was amazing. I am vegetarian and found the options just as plentiful and wonderful. Our guide, Ara, was very knowledgeable, caring, and most importantly, passionate and proud of Iran, and that heavily influenced our experience.

Mosque and shrine in Mashad - but so difficult to choose one amongst so many places visited on this amazing adventure
Tips?
Be prepared for long days and early starts. Walking boots and water bottles not essential as walking easily done in walking sandals, and water providied in
plastic bottles in most hotels.
Local benefits?
Supported local people by visiting areas of the normal tourist route and therefore putting money into their pockets
