Ghana holidays
Colourful, handwoven kente cloth is richly layered, deeply traditional, and has strong associations with tribal chiefs and kings. In short, it’s the perfect symbol for Ghana. In this little West African nation, you can meet a village chief, track wild elephants, bask on a tropical beach, learn to dance and participate in Ashanti festivities, but Ghana holidays & Ghana tours are really about the little things: the warmth and hospitality of the people, and sinking into “Ghana time”.

This operator has arranged an amazing tour. We feel that we actually saw and participated in the Ghanaian way of life. Every day we would tell our tour guides and driver, that it was “ the best day ever.” The tour guides and driver were top notch. They were teachers who also made our trip loads of fun. We made many mnew friends along the way.

The are two memorable parts to our trip (1) visiting the Temple de Python in Ouidah, Benin and having a Royal Python draped around my neck. I've had a
phobia of snakes for many years, but decided this was the time to conquer it (2) the Zangbeto voodoo dance.

We loved all of it but highlights would include seeing how different life in Ghana is from ours; chatting to the people, especially the children; trekking along the beautiful coastline; watching the baby turtles make their way to the sea; seeing the beautiful old ruins of the former days; and seeing the cocoa farms...

Memorable parts?
The most memorable part was probably walking around the busy streets of areas like Accra Old Town, Osu and the centres of Cape Coast and Elmina. There is always something to look at amongst the crowds and you feel safe and are not unduly bothered. Particularly enjoyable was a visit to a local high-life band’s concert in Cape Coast. And we were very interested in a couple of meetings we had with academics about Ghanaian culture and history.

Very interesting and out of the ordinary. The guide Armstrong was really excellent. He flawlessly organized all the visits to the ceremonies and tried to add extra experiences and things that were not in the program. No time was wasted. (more)Laura Palmucci

There were so many memorable and exciting parts to this volunteering. The opportunity to stay within a relatively remote local community and work with the Village by Village team in Ghana has got to be a highlight. Visiting schools around the region, meeting the teachers and the school kids was a joy. Driving to the different schools through the beautiful countryside with Ghanaian pop music blaring on the radio and the team laughing and chatting is a special memory. And ... (more)Pamela Cairns
