The hikes of Serra do Vosso and to Salto do Rosal, the biking and kayaking around Sete Ciades.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The population on the islands is small and resources are limited, so be flexible with the tours, because the ones you want may be booked.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We used Tours by Locals to book 3 of our excursions. The guides on the those tours were local people.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The Azoris Royal Garden Hotel and Verde Mar Hotel and Spa were both wonderful places to stay. Our grandchildren loved spending a bit of time each day before dinner at the pools. Both places have lovely spacious pools. Our dinners at Casa Nostra Azores and at Hotel Verde Mar were our favourites on the island.Erin Simpson review 21 Mar 2024

We loved so many parts of the holiday! The canyoning was probably our favourite, and the e-biking was also amazing. We got so lucky on our whale watching and saw a whole pod of sperm whales! All the guides were terrific,and our tour guide Margarida was just outstanding.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Stay at the Royal Azoris, it's great! The food is good and accessible and helps ease some of the need to find a restaurant for every meal. They have a terrific breakfast, and dinner buffet.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I was really impressed by the conservation efforts, especially compared with other travel experiences.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Canyoning , surfing , best hotel , coasteering, brilliant funny guides, beautiful flowers everywhere in the Azores,2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Book with the tour operator, ask about family restaurants as they are hard to find3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes. Whale watching now rather than hunting whales. Also, canyoning monetorizes the countryside ravines. Recycling everywhere in the Azores, And in the hotel. ALso glass bottles of water used in the hotel, optional towel washing. We also visited a local family run farm so this helps the farm. Packed lunches by the tour operator used washable plastic lunchboxes and worsen cutlery. Our hotel, (the Azoris Royal Garden hotel) provided butter in plastic packs. Our hotel provided organic handsoap and shampoo in large 400ml dispensers in the rooms. It would be better if the butter in the restaurant was scooped in small dishes, to avoid the plastic.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Be prepared for all weathers. There can be a shower or some wind, but it’s lovely and warm so still feels nice.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
