Reviews for Wheelchair accessible Nile cruise, Egypt
KENNETH SYRETT review 11 Nov 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing the Pyramids of Gisa and the Valley of the Kings2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Wheelchair accessibility is a bit of a joke. The operator did usually not provide wheelchairs. As one would expect, accessibility was very limited at most sites. Fortunately, I was able to access most things by using my cane. If you are totally wheelchair bound, forget going on this trip!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It benefitted local people (never -ending supply of locals trying to sell you something. They do not take "no" for an answer!)4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Overall, it was worth the over-zealous shopkeepers and lack of accessibility because of the historical significance of seeing these ancient wonders.Read the operator's response here:
Hello Kenneth,
Thank you so much for your message, we have been through your comments and we would like to thank you for your feedback. Please let's assure you that Egypt is not like Europe (Wheelchair users' friendly ) , we are trying to make the ever possible adaptations to meet our customers' needs. We have been investigating your comments regarding providing a wheelchair during your trip as well as the locals who were selling some products, I trust the wheelchair has been provided on day 2 of your trip . Concerning the local vendors, they are offering their products and some of travelers could be interested. However as this was an unpleasent experience for yourself, we assured our tour representatives & guides to take a proper action towards vendors in case that our clients are not interested. We truly appreciate your observations & very much looking forward to welcoming you again in Egypt

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The pyramids for sure! Kom Ombo blew me away, too. But we totally enjoyed it all! The cruise and the most excellent staff!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions - we learned a lot about the history, culture, and even the tipping practices! The guides are super knowledgeable.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We asked to be taken shopping for certain things and were lead to reputable places where we felt good about spending our money and supporting people.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
This was an excellent trip. We are thinking of coming back and I would definitely use the operator again. The care they provided for my handicapped husband and I was unparalleled. Very good natured people that really strive to make our stay so enjoyable.David Smith review 3 Mar 2020

Visiting the temples and excursions.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Quality of the Egyptian guides - superb historical and local knowledge2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Explain clearly what pace of trip you want - in hindsight we could have left out some places in Cairo to avoid long drives in traffic across the city. We would have focused on one or two places (such as the museum) and spent longer there.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It benefited local people but not the environment or conservation. Personally I would prefer not to take tours using animal rides and also suggest that the tour company ask clients to refill re-usable drinking bottles from a larger one that they keep in the minibus ( rather than handing out new small plastic water bottles each day) this is true of all tours not just this operator!4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was superb, I travelled with my elderly Aunt who required a wheelchair and the operator provided excellent support and were extremely kind and patient.Holiday Reviews
