We probably over-organised. We perhaps should have had some time without guides to explore ourselves. And we stayed exclusively in upmarket hotels - it would have been better to have gone for some more basic accommodation in the heart of things. Food is amazing. While this trip was not a food trip it still qualifies for that.
Tips?
Visit Vietnam and if you can extend your stay and go to the mountains in the north or visit an island in the south.

Our tour around the palaces & tombs of Hue with our responsible travel guide Mr Dai & the trip over the mountains to Hoi An.
Tips?
Go to Hoi An - great little town with lovely beaches. Disappointed with Ho Chi Minh City (we love Bangkok) & would recommend more time in Hanoi - a great place to walk around.

Meeting the local guide in Sapa, and getting to know her a bit. Seeing the amazing local textiles in sapa, and walking in Pu Long.
Tips?
Go to My Son near Hoi An. Tell local ladies in Sapa, you are 'not shopping' so they dont follow you and then expect you to buy from them, it's mostly Chinease imports any way!

This is a superb way of finding out about Vietnamese food, from street stalls to fine dining and much in between. Be prepared to try everything food wise! A great trip with Nhi who was a tremendous trip leader.

Yes to an extent. Plastic usage in Vietnam is horrendous, but having one single plastic water container on the bus was one way of offsetting it, as was having
