Canary Island holidays
A volcanic archipelago that has exploded onto the sustainability scene. Hippies have known about the joys of El Hierro and La Gomera ‘ s wildernesses since the sixties. Mass tourism resorts may have dominated Canary Islands holidays in Tenerife and Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, but protected mountain landscapes and remote coastlines still dominate the maps. And whales dominate the waters on Canaries holidays & tours. And these wise creatures always know the safe and sumptuous havens in the world.

The best part was staying in the tiny fishing village of Punta Mujeres and interact with the locals simply by having a cortado or getting a beer with the others. This is the best slow travel I have experienced. Highly recommended, if you want to walk, trek, read, write, have great food and surrounded by simple, kind
people. An unforgettable holiday where the pace was slow and the locals very kind including the mini market at Punta Mujeres, the hair dresser and folks
at Bar Palenka. (more)Priti Patnaik

The weather and atmosphere on the Finca was great
Tips?
If you don’t want to drive, the bus service is great. The village has a couple of bars and restaurants, a supermarket and the honesty shop on the finca is very handy. They even had gluten free beer!

Yes, the carbon footprint is far lower than other local resort hotels. There’s a lot of thought gone into the sustainability of the Finca.

Being able to walk to a great family beach (Arrieta) with spanish holidaymakers mainly. Our teenagers felt free to go swimming, body boarding & surfing. After a day of swimming or discovering the island it felt good to come back to the Eco Cabin with its pergola and small garden with fruit trees (fig, orange, mango, apple). (more)Sophie Nelson
