Overall it was a good trip. (more)Rebecca Palmer
It was a little too rushed, an extra day in each main city would have been better. The 3 guides we had were exceptionally good, especially Sophie in Georgia & Raffi in Armenia who had an enormous knowledge of history & culture. (more)Chloe Dutton
Well planned itinerary. Hit or miss with the local guides. We had three different guides for each country, 2 of whom were excellent. (more)Karen Chua
Found it a very interesting holiday and visiting the 3 different countries gave an insight in to their different cultures. Well organised and guides all excellent. Some of the 4 star hotels were not quite what I was expecting but were all acceptable. (more)Caroline Cutmore

Our trip to Georgia was, in a word, perfection. Our goal was to explore ancient monasteries, enjoy the high Caucasus Mountains, and sample the wines made in the old qvervi traditional method. Our expectations were exceeded on all accounts, due primarily to our outstanding guide, Irakli. (more)Carole Fenton

I enjoyed the trip and am glad I went but it was much more strenuous than I think anyone expected. The tour guides, especially Ani in Armenia, were good. (more)Jodi Sparks

Certainly there was a huge amount to learn about an area of the world about which I was lacking in knowledge. We were delighted to have been, and can recommend it. (more)Andy Sykes

Memorable parts?
The high level mountain walk on the last day between the two peaks of Pico Arieiro and Pico Ruivo, a good path with safety hand holds and spectacular views into the valleys below.
Tips?
Bring along a bright mini torch or head torch as there are a few tunnels between valleys, one being 800m in length, so you can see low ceilings and puddles

Seeing three very different cultures/countries, but with much in common. The mud 'volcanoes' were perhaps the strangest sight - enhanced by the Lada trip
to see them.

A certain amount of stamina required as little time to rest. Fitness is also required, while not a walking holiday there are quite a lot of steps/stairs to navigate.

Tasting the very interesting wines - I was on a Wine Tour, an seeing how they were still made in the traditional way
Tips?
Be prepared to get some wonderful food and try great wines.
Local benefits?
Not particularly apart from using a local tour company and guide.
Obviously we visited mostly local wine producers who are still one and run by families but the bigger international investors are starting to make their mark.

Amazing historical churches and monasteries in some wonderful scenery. Wine tasting and cooking local food was great fun.
Tips?
Good to read up before the trip as will assist with understanding the countries historically and politically. The Guides do give you plenty of information so it's not necessary but there is a lot of information to take on board.

We started walking through the fortified town of Sighnaghi in Georgia and were sidetracked by the sound of music coming from the main square. It turned out that it was a national holiday, and a series of youth groups in splendid costumes were doing traditional dances on a stage in the square... (more)Paula Lozar
