Whale watching
Tips?

Local benefits?
Not for most of it. On reflection we realised that we had lost sight of this original reason for going through Responsible travel. Not sure how easy it is in USA to get away from low wage big business.

It is very difficult to choose the most memorable/exciting part of the holiday, the whole fortnight was fantastic. The scenery is stunning, the wildlife amazing, all the boat crew were great, the atmosphere on board warm and friendly, the food was fabulous, the activities well organised. If we had to choose, we particularly enjoyed kayaking in Misty Fiord. We were lucky with the weather, the water was like a mirror and the scenery particularly dramatic. The fantail at ... Memorable parts?
Seeing my sister.
Tips?
Don’t do it. I thought the trip was not very good value. It was amazing to see America, however the tour guides were not helpful and did not seem to know their stuff. It was honestly disappointing.
Local benefits?
No. We caught Ubers (that we had to pay for) but in NYC we caught trains (and paid for those too despite travel being included”.

I loved this tour - it was amazing! Being able to travel Alaska in a converted school bus, with amazing guides and a fantastic group of like minded people, made for an incredible trip. We got to see some beautiful places and animals, ate really well and generally just had the best time. (more)Sasha Lim
Since this was my first trip on my own I felt very comfortable with the holiday providers as the owners were the people directly running the trip. They were always available to answer questions both before and during the trip. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone looking for an exciting overland tour of Alaska (and Canada too!). (more)Julie Woods
Our guide, Dave, had a lot of great information to help us along the way. I loved the bush camp off the Maclaren glacial river. We were far away from everyone in the majestic wilderness of Alaska and saw a brilliant northern lights display. It was magical! The animals sightings were spectacular! (more)Katharine Bowlus
Watching a grizzly chase two caribou in Denali, jumping into the cold sea after a
visit to a sauna, kayaking and canoeing, hiking to an icefield and abandoned mine, and watching salmon migrating. (more)Meredith DePrisco-Gaffney
The highlights include wildlife at Denali National Park, kayaking out to the

Memorable parts?
There were many great aspects to the holiday - scenery, atmosphere, wildlife, tour guides, travelling companions, camp fir - the most memorable was sighting humpback whales whilst kayaking.
Tips?
Get involved and keep your eyes open.
Local benefits?
Apart from flying to get there and travelling around by bus there was very little environmental impact
