1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Really very difficult to say as the itinerary was superb. It probably has to be Gobekli Tepe which is just out of this world, though the city of Mardin was lovely. and Sumela Monastery even outshone the Tiger's Nest in Bhutan (and was a lot easier to get to!).2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared to have your prejudices and pre-conceived ideas about the arid desert of eastern Turkey completely blown away. Do make the decision to spend a lot of money on a hand woven silk rug, you will not regret it. Be aware that the homestay accommodation whilst in a tremendous location and run by lovely helpful people (and their dog) is fairly basic - limited heating and irregular supply of hot water.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
To an extent, in that we eat in local restaurants wherever possible, bought things in the bazaars, drank coffee & tea in local shops and stayed away from chain hotels (except in Trabzon). Not sure that we made an especial efforts to reduce environmental impact or to support conservation.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
