1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Walking from Chipude to Playa de Santiago2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Be prepared for long, steep, rocky descents!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It was good to stay in local hotels and eat in local restaurants.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was very good to cover much of the island, experience routes in the cloud forest, pass through local villages and explore some of the coastline. The walks were excellent and GPS tracks helpful as a back-up for the walk notes, though they were not quite complete.Kathryn White review 16 Dec 2021
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Walking in different regions of the island - the scenery is so dramatic and very varied considering it is a small island.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The walking is quite strenuous - a lot of steep up and down so expect a good workout!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Staying in small, independent hotels and eating regional food in local restaurants benefited local people. We were walking rather than hiring a car so that reduced environmental impact (although our luggage was transferred by car). Buying local produce supports conservation by encouraging farmers to manage their land sustainably, which is one way the national park is trying to prevent devastating forest fires in the future.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent holiday, it had the right balance of walks and rest-days for us. The organisation was faultless. A great way to see different parts of the island.Holiday Reviews
