This is a perfect holiday for families with children that are pre-teens or teenagers. There's truly a perfect balance of spending fun time with your family and meeting new children.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

The Group Experience with other families was truly fantastic. We loved canyoning and zip lining.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Yes. We at local places, used local transport and local activity suppliers. The company advised us to bring metal reusable water containers, which is great for the environment.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The fact that all three of us took part in all the brilliant activities. The way our tour leader Daniel helped the teenagers and told some wonderful fun stories.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Water shoes for pebble beaches. The village was fabulous, safe and lots to do for all. Relax clothing is all you need, you don't need to dress up. Be honest with your fitness to the company.3. 100% yes. We love the ethics of the company and the involvement in the village they operate in.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A very different holiday for us, to join a group holiday. We were all slightly nervous of meeting other families but with Daniel's guidance it has been absolutely brilliant. The freedom the children have had in the village was fantastic and has led to chilled parent evenings. We would highly recommend to anyone with teenagers to come an experience this adventure holiday. We enjoyed mixing with the other families. The ice breakers worked a treat. Daniel and Eti our tour leaders were very natural and open. We loved hearing their stories. Tap water is safe to drink. Take ponchos for changing in and out of wet clothes after activities. Fingerless gloves for canyoning.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
All the local people we met have been brilliant. We visited local restaurants, shops, cafes etc, dived into the local culture, eating local cuisine and learning a few words of the native Croatian language.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Overall, one of our best family holidays. Meeting other families with children with similar ages and genders has been superb. My two teenagers have had the time of their lives with other families. The tour leaders Marija and Sara are absolutely brilliant. They even created a WhatsApp group for parents, so we could all communicate and receive information. I loved the tubing the most. Husband and teenagers loved the canyoning and zipline activities the most. The 4 star hotel was fantastic, especially the location on the beach and so close to the town. Do the ziplining, enjoy wonderful views. it's easy and exhilarating. Bring a few swim costumes as the activities are water based. Rash vests and water shoes are a good idea. Join in and enjoy everything as the week goes quickly. Guides are very knowledgeable, so take their advice about restaurants and other local activities.3. Yes. Employs locals and with recommendations of good local Croatian restaurants, we used those too. We brought our own fabric bag for shopping, but the adventure company running the holiday provides reusable eco friendly bags as well, to reduce plastic waste.4. Long sleeve rash vest, to protect skin and save on sun cream. Water shoes is a must for pebble beaches. Omis has a large sandy beach on the hotels doorstep, but the pebble beach 10 minutes walk left along the coast is a must. Very clear waters.3. An amazing activity holiday that can easily cater for children from 12 to 21 and those older too. Our Tour Leader Barisa is passionate, enthusiastic and has been amazing all week. From catering food requirements, helping confidence levels and adding his personality to the trip. Outcome was an amazing week of activities that not everyone thought they could do at the start. We loved it as a family. Barisa is a great guide. Iva is also lovely. We really enjoyed the mix of activities and downtime. Adventure and relaxation was had. Loved the variety of activities. Boat trip and zip lining were great additions. We especially loved the jumps into the water on various activities like white water rafting. Schedule runs to best weather conditions. Not necessarily to the website day by day itinerary. The bike is challenging in places. Make sure younger children are good riders. Use the boots you can rent at the canyoning office. Perfect for canyoning and river tubing. Water beach shoes for Croatia’s pebble beaches are very useful. The most memorable and exciting parts of our holiday were the adventures. We had a wonderful time and the order of adventures was perfect and would highly recommend to all. Great days and we felt very safe. Good amount of physical exercise without being exhausted. Appropriate amount of safety training and important information. We also enjoyed zip lining, sightseeing in Split, Klis fortress/castle, and the lovely town of Omis (old town and beach area). Our boat adventure with Tomo was a fantastic day. He’s such a professional and was easy to talk with. He was sure to take the best routes and his expertise ensured a fun day. We swam/snorkelled in a beautiful cove and had lovely visits to towns on Brac island and to Trogir before returning home. The most memorable personal part of our holiday was getting to know Maria, who was able to join us for the zipline day and meet up with us during our holiday week. We really enjoyed the conversations with her and learning about Croatia. She gave us great insights and it was so nice to get to know more about the country and traditions from a personal, genuine perspective.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
- When they encourage you to try something you’re not sure about, go for it! In our case, we were worried about river rafting, and it was such a fun day and we felt totally safe and in good hands. -We were able to add in more sightseeing of castles and historic towns, something my family loves. The tour operator helped us choose the best things to see. -Listen to the recommendations for nearby restaurants; we really enjoyed the local bakery and it was a great value for everything from breakfast to dinner. Local markets are small, but have all the basics. -Beach restaurants seemed to serve similar Mediterranean foods (wood fired pizzas, risotto, pasta, salads and grilled meat/fish with fries). -Bring water shoes as most beaches are rocky and pack your next day’s clothes, swimsuits and flip flops in case there is a problem with your luggage airline’s issue. Sunscreen, hats, rash guards, toiletries, etc. -Bring large, insulated water bottles so you have plenty of water during your adventures. -install the WhatsApp App on your phone for easy communications if you don’t have it already. -Bring Croatian Kuna or ATM card to get some, as smaller places are cash only and any tips/gratuities for restaurant servers or guides must be paid in cash (impossible to add tip with credit).3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, we believe the holiday had a positive impact on local people. It was clear that the local tour operators had a good relationship with Maria, and were grateful for the business while also proving many reasons why they were the vendors used (friendly, safe, full service, good quality equipment, etc.). We found servers in restaurants and shopkeepers to be friendly and interested in providing good food and service. It was nice to be able to support local businesses and you could tell that many were run by the owners and their families. The beautiful, clean villa was located in a neighborhood full of families, who were friendly. They smiled, waved and greeted us every time we walked by. We did feel that we “left only footprints” and that there was a lot of care taken to keep cities and towns extremely clean and minimize tourism impact on the environment. Unlike many cities we have visited, Split and Trogir, while they definitely had lots of shops geared toward tourists, were showcasing more lovely “made in Croatia” products than cheap junk. Our entry/exit to the adventures in nature were on paths that had very minimal environmental impact. Thank you for the eco canvas shopping bag. I’m using it at home and the hats.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We chose Croatia as our destination because of its promise of natural beauty, rich history. We found a good value for the price paid, and felt that we were always dealing with professional, knowledgeable people who ensured we had the best possible experience. Calls with Brett and Maria to ensure the details of the holiday would be a good fit for our family were the start that gave us confidence that we had chosen a company that would not disappoint. Upon arrival in Croatia, from pickup at the airport by our driver Frano to the boat captain Tomo, we felt safe and well cared for by professionals who enjoyed their jobs. Big thanks to Maria, her communication was excellent. The apartment was very clean and well set up for our family of 4, with living space, full kitchen, balconies, nice bathroom and two bedrooms. Our teenage girls appreciated having their own room and twin beds, with plenty of closet space for all their things. They especially appreciated the robust WiFi so they could watch shows and connect with friends! We were able to log on and do a little work as well. The pool area was beautiful, and very well equipped, although we spent most of our time on an excursion, sightseeing or at the beach. We did not use the laundry, but it was great to know it was there if we needed it. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this tour operator with Maria as your guide to anyone looking to visit Croatia. The river activities were my favourite. The Cetina river is beautiful, the water clear and cool, lovely to be in when the weather was so hot. The equipment was good, the guides were excellent, and the activities exciting.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
If you're concerned about ages of children I'd say don't worry too much. My 11 year old managed fine - paddling from the river tubes was hard with short arms but she found a way. She loved the canyoning. Don't worry too much about when you read the scary health and safety brief. Unless you have any mobility problems or are scared of heights etc is very doable. After the activities you will be hungry and thirsty. For some of the activities guides provided sandwiches and fruit. For one they didn;t and we got caught out and hadn't brough anything leading to an odd 2 dinner evening one at 4 and one at 8. So my advice is to check if anything will be provided and if not bring something. Maybe bring something anyway.3. Probably benefited local people. I think the activities were generally low impact on the environment and possibly helped keep those areas free from development. We also did a speedboat tour = not sure about how environmentally friendly that is!!4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The accommodation was basic and had a disappointing view of the supermarket. We, our guides and local partners are actively involved with many local charities including beach clean-up days [pre and post season].
Throughout the week our guides collect rubbish in their personal bags and pro-actively encourage families to do the same. In regards to recycling although
Croatia is behind the UK in this regards we always actively establish plastic and glass recycling opportunities whenever possible. Recycling as law has
neither been encouraged or enforced by Croatian councils, so at present there are very few recycle stations across the country. However, our adventure
company has spoken to neighboring municipality’s to use their recycling facilities. We are very happy that this will change after January 1st 2019 and
recycling will be required by law in Croatia.
We also remind guests to minimize their purchases of plastic bottles as the Croatian drinking water is fine to consume. We also provide our families with a
re-usable shopping bag, to reduce the need of plastic bags. Next year we intend to be even more transparent, so our families feel more educated to the good
work we are already actively involved with and local charities we are supporting. We appreciate it is a great feeling knowing, that a 5 star rated holiday as
well as giving our guests an authentic adventure holiday experience is also benefiting the local community & is proudly governed by responsible & eco-

An enjoyable holiday in Croatia the accommadation was very good. Podstrana itself is somewhere we would not revisit and the drive to activities was quite long some days. Sea canoeing was cancelled due to weather so we did river paddling instead this was VERY BORING completely flat. I really enjoyed the activities, the accommodation could have been more central but it was clean and nice. I would have been prepared to pay a little more to have use of a pool. The white water rafting was favoured by all four of us in terms of pure fun closely followed by the cycling day. To check with your insurance about cover for the canyoning in advance of the trip. To go on the wine tasting trip - this was a fantastic evening surpassing all expectation (and it wasn't just about the wine). I would like to think it benefited local people as Trilj didn't appear to be a particularly tourist destination so the bars and restaurants benefited from our custom. The activities certainly didn't leave much of a footprint.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

The canyoning and the white water rafting were great fun although slightly tame because we had the kids on board.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It's worth getting the professional photos taken during the whitewater rafting. You don't end up taking too many photos during the week as you are in and out of the water and you can't carry your camera with you.3. Only in that Croatia is heavily dependent upon tourism.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Stunning views that out-sense the brochure. Canyoning with my family was thrilling and spending time together just messing around in the pool was rejuvenating.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Yes -- the local economy depends on tourism entirely in the Summer with the other major activity being olive oil production which occupies the autumn and winter months.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

There were diffreent highlights for all us - mine were cycling through the quiet roads to explore the Croatian countryside, cooling off in freshwater springs, canyoning on the beautiful Cetina river, wine-tasting at a local Croation vineyard, and enjoying the company of the other guests and our local hosts.2. I think it benefited local people in that we used local operators for the organised activities, stayed in a family hotel and went wine-tasting locally.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Travel light but take a stout pair of trainers for the canyoning. Ask for room 222! Take the optional tour of a local winery especially if it is to Drajan's place.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I think that the town of Trilj, where the hotel is located, benefitted considerably from our holiday. We spent money locally on lunches, in the evening and in the hotel, both via the booking and with evening bar tabs. There is a negative environmental impact just by travelling to and within Croatia, but it is minimised by the activities all being human-powered. I am not aware that we directly supported any conservation other than by using the river and so ensuring that the authorities have good reason to keep it pristine.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was a terrific holiday, the activities were exciting and challenging without being terrifying. The hotel was fine and the pig roast on the final night was a real treat.Holiday Reviews
