1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
It's hard to pick one thing out as we didn't have much in the way of preconceived ideas about Slovenia. The enjoyable thing was exploring and finding out what a lovely destination it was. We really did enjoy every part of the trip, the people, food and locations were all wonderful.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
There is a lot to see & do, we did a lot of site seeing in the first part so were glad to have some down time by the sea for the final few days to fully relax.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
From the point of view that we were supporting the economy by spending money at hotels, restaurants, attractions etc then yes, I think it benefited local people. Not sure it helped with the environment although I was impressed by the number of pedestrianised towns including the capital & focus on local wines & produce4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I would give the holiday top marks. Everything was well organised, the App gave us all the information at our finger tips. All the recommendations for hotels & activities were very good. We loved it!Teresa Harris review 17 Jun 2024

Caves2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Going to both the lakes and beach is a good way to see different aspects of the country. Not to use the car rental company as our flight was delayed and they were going to charge after 10. No one was there when we took the car back and took a lot of phone calls to get someone to come out.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Supported local people in terms of the economy4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Breaking my ankle was most memorable. The most exciting was the drive Logar Valley to Lake Bled2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
The accommodation was ok but mostly in the back of the hotel looking over rubbish bins and noisy back streets . No views anywhere!3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
No , not at all except for supporting local people with jobs etcSlovenia4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Slovenia is a wonderful country and we had a wonderful time here except for the accident.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Sally, thank you for your comments and we are truly sorry to hear about the injury to your ankle.
We are very pleased to read that you had a wonderful time and enjoyed Slovenia as a destination but I wanted to take a little time to answer your feedback
with some constructive information based upon a full check with our local partners.
Regarding the hotel rooms - we are a bit surprised by your comment, for example - Hotel Plesnik allocated you 1st floor, room No. 110 - overlooking Palenk
waterfall. Penzion Mayer confirms that some rooms look over to the next door property, Hotel Rikli Balance, and its entrance for employees but there is
certainly no rubbish in that area. In fact, they mentioned to us that they helped out when you broke your ankle, taking your husband to the hospital and
keeping the room after check-out. Hotel Piran was room No. 201 - comfort double room with city view on a higher floor. Hotel Kras gave you room no. 314 with
a view of Nanos Hill. No hotels nor our local agency received any complaints about the rooms.
Regarding Q3, I really need to mention that we offer small hotels, the majority of which are family owned and this type of accommodation greatly benefits the
local economy and local people. The Hotel Plesnik, for example, is recognised as a leading example of sustainable management in the hospitality sector -
https://www.plesnik.si/en/sustainability-efforts-and-certificates is a very good summary of their practices and awards. Other hotels also have a very good
track record and Slovenia as a whole is a leading light of World Tourism when it comes to such matters.
Many thanks again for taking the time to send your comments

Piran and the Logar Valley were beautiful2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Stay longer! I would suggest staying another 2 nights somewhere else on the coast3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It benefited locals because we spent money! Don’t think we reduced environmental impacts but I think travel makes you appreciate the environment4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, manages driving and navigating well. All roads were excellent but the road to Logar Valley was in poor condition due to recent rains.Lynne Harrison review 17 Sep 2023

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The whole holiday was memorable but our favourite stay was at Hotel Plesnik in the Logar Valley. The valley area itself was beautiful and peaceful and the hotel with its wellness spa and freshwater pool (with fish in!) with a view of the mountains was just stunning.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
We loved our multi-destination route and it is definitely worth staying in a few different locations in such a varied country. Even a couple of nights in a place is enough to get off the beaten track a bit and explore properly. Mix a few more remote areas in with the classics like Bled, which can be quite busy if travelling in peak season. Take the scenic routes when travelling from place to place - everything is pretty close to everything else anyway, and it is totally worth a extra few miles for the views and locations you travel through. If we did it again would probably choose Piran over Izola on the coast, but both are lovely and with 3 nights on the coast we spent a day in each so felt we explored both.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Local people presumably benefit from the tourism dollar and some of the hotels were very eco-focused, so yes to some extent, but a fly-drive holiday is never going to be environmentally low in impact.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Fantastic holiday, full of variety and interest. We wanted to stay longer at every location. It was super well organised, all the hotels chosen were in great locations, all transfers and hire car was smooth and the app was very useful in helping us to plan as there were so many different things to do in each location it would have been hard to keep on top of it otherwise. Tips and itinerary ideas from the agent were so useful and helpful. Overall an excellent trip. Would highly recommend this agency if travelling to Slovenia.Ian Dover review 6 Aug 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Piran was great for us. Not glitzy like the Italian Riviera, not crowded like Venice, but with wonderful swimming straight off the quay in front of the hotel. But e also enjoyed the visit to the Mercury mine in Idrija.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don’t visit in peak summer holiday season and you’ll get wonderful attention from the locals.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I felt that our holiday was generally environmentally and socially responsible.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was wonderful and we’d certainly go back for more if the opportunity arose.Claire Tyrrell review 4 Aug 2023

Consider doing it on train for lower cost & carbon footprint3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Not sure that refuced environmental impact or supported conservation although a lot of the food in hotels & restaurants appeared to be local4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Difficult to answer, I hopefully helped by buying local products where possible.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
An excellent experience from initial contact through to the end. Everything worked as planned, transfers to and from the airport were on time, polite drivers and prestige vehicles. Hire car arrived on time and the Vamoose app worked really well.Vivienne Shilling review 6 Oct 2022
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Seeing the beautiful Logar Valley for the first time. The rest of Slovenia is lovely but that view down the valley is astonishing2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Bring some decent maps of the areas being visited. The equivalent of our OS ones. If travelling in late September/early October pack for all types of weather particularly in the mountains. Listen to the advise of the travel company as parking in some places is problematic and they will know where to avoid. In some hotels the bars close quite early.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes all three. Slovenia is a very clean country with little litter. The people are proud of their country and encourage one to eat the locally produced foods. The local wines are also excellent.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We enjoyed it very much despite the weather. We travelled around and it was a great taster experience. We will certainly come back and visit some new areas and revisit others.Deborah Wilson review 23 Sep 2019

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Predjama grad lived up to expectation. Spectacular.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Don't rely on the car rental firm. They were late to drop the car off and forgot to collect to car at the drop off. The car itself was excellent. Modern and well maintained.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
While I did not stay at large corporate hotels, neither were they small family run boutique. The option of hiring an electric vehicle might be an option worth exploring.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent. 1. The UK interface of the company was exemplary and I would recommend the firm based on this. Andy, who I dealt with was fantastic and was a credit to the company. 2. The price is reasonable. 3. Local suppliers were generally well chosen. The hotels I stayed in were pleasant. The AC at Marina Hotel did not work, but this was a minor issue. Possibly, given I wanted to drop the car off at Trieste airport, a larger car rental for with a depot at the airport may have proved easier. The failure of car pick up proved quite stressful,.Read the operator's response here:
Hi Damon, I am so glad that you enjoyed your trip to Slovenia. I was however concerned to read about your experience with the hire car drop off arrangements which sounded quite out of character for our local supplier. I checked with them and they explained that the representative sent to meet you and collect the car had been stuck on the motorway in a traffic jam due to an accident that happened on the section from Postojna to Koper. I am told that they contacted you and provided exact information for you to park the car and leave the keys and documents at the Airport Information Desk. The car was collected a few hours later and I can tell you that everything was OK (i.e. no problems). In light of the stress caused they have agreed to refund one day's rental as a gesture of goodwill.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We both loved Lake Bled, so scenic and beautiful. Shame the weather wasn’t any good!2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Make sure you leave plenty of time when leaving Izola for the airport. It took us nearly 4 hours due to road works & a car accident.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We thought that the country was quite affluent. We went to some castles & caves and everything was very clean & well appointed.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Everything went smoothly and as planned. Just the road closures & delays on the highway coming back to the airport which was not so good.Geoff Edwards review 11 Oct 2018
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The amazing number of trees in Slovenia. It is a very beautiful and varied country. We loved walking in the mountains in the north, around the lakes and then along the Adriatic coast. We were blessed with great weather - we took too many jumpers and too few t-shirts - which was a surprise for mid September.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Having a satnav could be a help. We just had a road map, but really only got lost once. We learned that their road numbers are on little signs at the road side and the main direction signs do not include road numbers. Also stick to main roads. The small village roads (shown as white on our map) soon disappeared into gravel tracks pirouetting over the mountain.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Tourism is a major industry and we did our bit. Although it was a fly-drive holiday, we only drove between resorts: once there we walked.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A wonderful experience - we enjoyed every bit.Celia Marsh review 5 Jun 2017
