Don't accept the first hotel room offered. Don't rely on electricity - aircon or fans can go off.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

No

Excellent guides, decent food and poor roads with not always the right vehicles.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry you did not think that the tour benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation. Sadly, Eritrea has had a history of conflict with its neighbour Ethiopia. Although the situation has much improved, Eritrea continues to be a challenging country to explore. Well maintained infrastructure is often lacking, as are governmental environmental initiatives which will be commonly found in more developed countries. Nonetheless, our local partners are fully aware of the need to do what they can to help reduce the impact that tourism has. All staff employed including your guide are locally based, which is only possible with the support of visitors such as yourself. We include visits to local restaurants and use local hotels which all benefit the local people. Thanks, Rhia
