Hunza Valley cultural tour in Pakistan

Memorable parts? Everything was memorable........from the stunning scenery, the friendly and kind people, great local food and excellent guide and driver. Tips? Food is freshly prepared so can take a while to arrive. Produce is seasonal and supplies can be sporadic so don't expect everything mentioned on the menu to be available - might be prudent to check first. It is quite likely that the internal flights to/from Gilgit will be delayed or cancelled, so be prepared as you may ... (more)Sharon burns

Memorable parts? The locals. I am a big fan of nature, but the locals made me feel very welcomed. They made my travel extra memorable.   Tips? I had a little hard time trekking because of the high altitude. It was somewhat challenging. But it was worth it. Beautiful surroundings and animals pushed me through, as did the guide and porters. I felt so much stronger and more powerful when I finished. I'd try it again. The mountains are calling me.   Local benefits? I might ... (more)AYAKO SAITO

Memorable parts? Amazing mountains / scenery Tips? Don't underestimate hiking at above 3,000 meters, even 5km can feel challenging. The sun is very intense and can get quite strong even if the actual temperature isn't very high. Bring good sunglasses and a broadbrimed hat. Local benefits? Yes, the local operator went out of their way to work with local and people and minimize environmental impact wherever possible. Overall rating? Excellent. There were ... (more)Katie Jacobs

Memorable parts? I really enjoyed the ancient monuments and seeing the farming practices and land management. Tips? Seriously consider the visa application, the email visa support team was useless so paying Travcour was the only viable option. On arrival in Karachi, visa check desk advised that they could fill the visa form in approximately 10 minutes...Air pollution effected my chest and wearing a face mask was helpful Local benefits? Yes Overall rating? Good ... (more)Joanna Donkin
