Memorable parts?
Difficult to pick just one - the Elephant Express from Dete to Bomani was a fabulous experience and never to be forgotten. Spending an afternoon in a hide by a waterhole watching elephants drinking and splashing around was amazing, as was walking out to where a small pack of wild dog were resting - under the
close supervision of an armed guide, of course! Sitting outside the tent in Mana Pools, gazing across the Zambezi and listening to the ... (more)Christine Waddington
Travelling with 11 strangers is never easy. Our group was very diverse in age, politics, nationality but you have to make it work. This is an adventure, not a holiday! Relax and enjoy the journey! (more)Jo Harvey
Being so close to the wild life and the sunset cruise on the Chobe... It was an amazing experience for me and a dream realised. (more)Caron Botha

Memorable parts?
Not only seeing so many species and experiencing so much, but also learning heaps about the South African wildlife from Alan and from guide JD and Lucky,
our tracker.
Tips?
Take a lot of memory cards - there is so much to see that you can expect to take 5,000+ photos along the way.
Local benefits?
I hope so. The local staff at the resort were terrific and the operator makes a contribution to conservation projects per tour.

I have travelled to over 50 countries now, but this was the best trip ever. (more)Peter Lowles
There were many memorable moments. Camping in the Okovango Delta was amazing, and the walks around the delta meant that we could get really close to some animals without disturbing them. The sunset cruise on the Chobe River enabled us to see loads of elephants taking baths and they weren't bothered at all by our presence. (more)Tim Gregory

Walking in the bush to see white Rhino in Matobo hills, Zimbabwe. This was a very special experience.
Tips?
Bring binoculars, sun hat and an open mind.
Local benefits?
Yes, we stayed in small lodges that employed a high percentage of local people and travelling in small groups has a low impact.
Overall rating?
This is a varied trip with many highlights, the wildlife viewing and standard of lodges exceeded my expectations. Our two Zimbabwean guides ... (more)Robert Jenner
This was a trip of a lifetime. We did a bush walk through the Kalahari desert with an actual bushman! It was fascinating. I’m glad I did this trip before I get too old. (more)Karla Hansen
The three days at the Pangolin Voyager on the Chobe River...no TV, phone or WiFi, just out in nature with great service and food on board... Excellent. (more)Jaime Montilla
We loved it and would recommend it....Some of my favorite animals were ones I didn’t even know I would see.

Walking with elephants
Tips?
Be fit before you travel
Local benefits?
I feel it benefitted the local environment
and animals. Im not convinced that
volunteers should enter local
communities. I think this gives the
wrong impression- white people turning
up with gifts then disappearing again. It
raises expectation and creates an
unhealthy dynamic in my view.

Excellent. Life enriching (more)Julie Alexander
Memorable parts?
Seeing the falls for the first time.
Tips?
If you are going for one week: you only need two days to visit the falls, because we didn’t do the safari, being that we live in Kenya, but you need more than four days to visit Cape Town.
Local benefits?
Yes, I do especially in Zimbabwe.

A fabulous lifetime experience. Don't pack more than you need and bring enough money for tip's - you will want to tip more than you think. It's not until you have completed the trip that you realize the impact you can have. (more)Andrew Cairns

It was all truly wonderful. I was most worried about creature comforts during the primitive stay in the Delta but it was great - no hardship whatsoever. I could never begin to capture how incredible the wildlife viewing is - and it just keeps coming! (more)Janet Stewart

Memorable parts?
The elephant by the side of the road in the wildlife corridor when we stopped to use the 'bush toilet'. The driver had not noticed it behind the solitary tree
before we got out of the vehicle. I would also say the group of people I was with: the other tourists, and our driver and cook. Camping in the Khama Rhino
Sanctuary and the Okavango Delta were amazing because these were the only times we truly were around nature and wildlife when not on a scheduled ... (more)Barbara Bilgre
