Turkey holiday, best of Turkey
From

Memorable parts? We absolutely loved our cave hotel in Cappadocia and were thoroughly enchanted by our guide, Ege. Tips? Local benefits? We definitely helped local economies by dining out and buying local goods, but not sure about reduced environmental impacts or supporting conservation as we did a lot of driving, which obviously is not great for the environment. Overall rating? We generally loved the trip although we were quite disappointed that the gulet ... (more)Leila May
Classic Turkey 8 day tour
From
£1,299
excluding flights
Memorable parts? Lots of highlights but the stay in the cave hotel in Cappadocia was amazing as was Cappadocia itself. Tips? Do book the optional flight back from Cappadocia to Istanbul. Have an extra day in Istanbul, it's very easy to get round and visit things by yourselves. Local benefits? The visits to local tradespeople benefitted their local businesses. Some visits more valuable than others though. Overall rating? Excellent, we loved Turkey. (more)Hilary Berg
Archaeology tour of Eastern Turkey
From

Memorable parts? Turkiye is such a varied country that it's hard to pin down one part as most memorable, but I'll say Cappadocia was the highlight. The terrain is truly unique and Mustafa, our guide, was exceptional. Tips? Relax, enjoy, and learn what you can about life in Türkiye. Local benefits? I am hopeful that my travels benefitted local people. Overall rating? Five stars! (more)Wendy Sanders

Family activity holidays in Turkey
From
£845

Memorable parts? Kayaking and snorkeling. Tips? Bring plenty of swimwear and sun cream. Local benefits? Clearly many local people and small businesses were involved in our transport and catering etc. Overall rating? Very good. The one less successful day was the "mountain biking". The route we used was not what we expected (it was entirely road based, not MTBing), and the bikes needed a lot more maintenance- I tried 2-3 of the machines and in each case gears ... Gulet cruise and walking holiday in Turkey
From
£1,590

Memorable parts? I really enjoyed hiking through the countryside, visiting a nomadic family, and sharing a cup of sage tea with them. Tips? Avoid booking when the weather is likely to be hot, as the hiking becomes strenuous when it is hot. We hiked in the last week of the spring season and it was almost too hot for hiking on a couple of the days. Local benefits? Yes, we purchased some items (honey, fresh juice, handicrafts) from local people in the villages. Overall ... (more)Margaret Brandeau
The Carian Trail walking holiday in Turkey
From
£710
excluding flights
Memorable parts? Parts of the Carian Trail were spectacular, we particularly enjoyed part I and II of the Lorymer walk. Tips? Check the timings you are given for each walk each day - we found these to be unrealistic and not all the trails have been updated. One section we didn't do as we were advised that many walkers have got lost and not finished their walks before dark, despite this being reported nothing has been done about updating the trail. The time of year you go is ... (more)Carol Grazebrook

Memorable parts? The landscapes and monuments were astonishing. Tips? Be flexible, be prepared to use squat toilets and always bring your own toilet paper! Local benefits? Yes. Supported local people by visiting areas of the normal tourist route and therefore putting money into their pockets Overall ... (more)Lynda Perkins
