We are genuinely sorry for the frustration and disappointment Rosie experienced during their trip. After receiving a clear pre-arrival advisory about the unusually high snow levels in Montenegro (and Albania) at the time of her trip, Rosie was offered a full refund or an entirely different, flexible itinerary to that advertised. She chose the latter option. Unfortunately, her group then encountered further bad weather throughout the week, leaving certain members with unrealistic expectations about the trails that could be safely hiked. Client safety is our top priority, and our Tour Leader, one of Montenegro's leading alpinists, made the right call to choose lower-level trails. His expertise and local knowledge should have been respected - but instead he was challenged repeatedly by the group, who at one stage even proceeded on an independent hike without informing him of their whereabouts. We would have had the right to remove them from the trip at this point, but we chose to address the issue directly and attempt to deliver the holiday as planned. We are satisfied that Rosie received full and detailed accommodation details ahead of booking, contrary to this review. We advise all future clients to please understand the need for safety above all else. If the weather changes, certain peaks may be deemed off limits, and our Tour Leaders’ expert opinion takes precedence over the desire to summit
