1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We attended a masked dance festival in Phobjika valley - our guide only found out about it the day before as it was local to where we were staying. Thousands of people were there in the middle of nowhere, and only a half dozen tourists - an amazing day. Just walking in the countryside is lovely.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It's more expensive to go now with various taxes and pricey flights but still definitely worthwhile as it's so unique. Just go if you can. We had a 8 night tour which was enough to get a flavour of the country - not sure how many more beautiful temples we wanted to see! We combined it with a stay either end in Kolkata during Durga Puja festival - usually October and completely manic and very different from peaceful Bhutan.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes in that it provided money and employment. The carbon negativity and gross national happiness are not exactly as advertised when you scratch beneath the surface, but the guides will chat about life in Bhutan readily..4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
It was brilliant - not crowded; think Switzerland with higher mountains, paddy fields and Buddhist temples. Learning about the culture in such a quickly developing country was fascinating.Suzanne Dinning review 2 Jan 2020
