1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The few days in Chiang Mai, walking, cycling and rafting in the jungle were most memorable, especially the stay in the mountain village.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Pack some lightweight, long sleeve clothing, or plenty of protective suncream.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
On the days with the guides, when food is mostly included, they were buying lots of snacks, meals and drinks along the way from many shops and street vendors, ensuring many local people benefitted. The guide also gave much more insight into local culture than we could have discovered on our own.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

So many good times. The food was excellent in particular.The trekking and homestay was great. Bamboo rafting fun.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This was a tailor made trip, so you give information on what you want and Pioneer book it with a local company for guides. There were several hotel choices which could have been better. Check out locations carefully.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
The holiday assisted local people, particularly in the north where we stayed and ate locally.I don’t think travelling to Thailand can ever be considered to be environmentally friendly. Water in plastic bottles was available from the guides. Reusable bottles would be better.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We really enjoyed it but several of the hotels or their locations could be improved. The floating hotel on the river Kwai was in a great location but the room was in very poor condition.Read the operator's response here:
Many thanks for your comments, I am pleased that overall you had a great time. We are looking into which hotels you thought could have been better (and
for what reasons) and we will look to improve for the future. We have found that hotel quality in many countries have been impacted during Coronavirus
when many lay empty so monies were not spent on general upkeep. So we will review our hotels for 2023.
