Reviews for Azerbaijan Georgia and Armenia holiday

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Tbilisi was a great city. Loved the cable car and funicular too. The scenery in Georgia and Armenia was spectacular.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Drop Azerbaijan altogether and focus on Georgia and Armenia. Baku has some interesting but not unique attractions such as the old town, but basically the city is one big window dressing exercise for a corrupt and despotic dynasty that rules the country. The driver in Azerbaijan on my tour was a maniac, and it seems that is the norm, narrowly missing head-on collisions on two occasions and regularly speeding in a reckless manner.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Yes, most certainly benefited locals.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I enjoyed Georgia and Armenia especially. The guides on all legs of the tour were professional and helpful. Overall, the tour was offered value for money for sure.Cathal Murphy review 10 Jun 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
There is so many memories from this wonderful trip that it is difficult to choose, but the highlight from this trip for me was that each country and capital city visited are very different in many ways, which offers travellers a real three in one vacation2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
This trip covers a lots of sites and distance in the 12 days. The itinerary is full on with little downtime so be prepared for long days. No need to book and pay extra for hotel upgrade, the 3* hotels are far better than any European 3* hotels3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
I cannot say I witnessed it first hand, but with that said all three countries depend heavily on tourism, so I suppose being a tourist in the region creates employment. I would like to see more interaction with local people4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
This is a fantastic trip that covers a lot of the regions top sites in a short period and it a excellent trip for those wanting to visit all three countries in a short period. The tour operator was great to deal with from start to finish and all aspects of the trip were well organised, with excellent guides, drivers and transportation. Its a 5* from me.Jodi Sparks review 26 Sep 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
How much history there is in the area.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Book the 4 star hotels and be prepared for strenuous exercise.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
No, I do not feel like our environmental impact was any different than any other tour I have been on. We did nothing to support conservation. I also don’t feel that we did anything to support the local people. In Azerbaijan we didn’t have time for shopping and had little time for meals. Georgia was a bit more free time. Armenia was where we had the most free time to shop or eat.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
I enjoyed the trip and am glad I went but it was much more strenuous than I think anyone expected. The tour guides, especially Ani in Armenia, were good.Read the operator's response here:
Dear Jodi,
Thanks so much for your review and all the notes. Your experience with us and the comments about the trip and its improvements are highly valuable and important for us to make our services better and the trips more enjoyable for the travelers.
Actually almost all the lunch stops (except for the city tour days and the very busy days to manage to see all the sites) are offered at local restaurants in regions (towns/ villages) which highly benefit the small local businesses in the regions. This is one of the key principles that we always follow and prioritise. Almost all regional overnights are also arranged at local cosy and comfortable hotels or guesthouses, which again help the local businesses to grow and develop.
Besides that, all the shopping markets near the sites are local markets, owners of which and sellers are local people from those or closer villages/ towns selling mainly their own homemade products.
We will implement the necessary changes and improvements to provide more free time especially in Azerbaijan, as well as in Georgia for the travelers to be able to spend it on shopping. Thank you again for your very helpful notes to help us make the travelers’ experience even more fascinating. We are very happy that you enjoyed your trip overall and hope you will travel with us again in future. Arara tour agency is glad to provide you with a GBP 100 tour voucher for any tour bookings with us in future.
Best wishes
