1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Cycling back from a restaurant late at night on Svartso with hundreds of frogs on the road. Rowing as part of the island-hopping trail.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
You don’t really need to bring hiking boots for this holiday - sturdy walking shoes with good profile soles are fine. The 2 restaurants on Svartso are definitely both worth a visit - preferably by bike.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It benefited local people. Less environmental impacts that traditional holidays.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
We really enjoyed it and feel that Carmen from the host company did an excellent job. The info provided was generally very good. A bit more detail about the restaurants on Svartso would have helped us to choose and book in advance. Our room in the first hotel in Stockholm was on the top floor (406) which meant Han could not stand upright in the bathroom. Best to be avoided for tall clients. Walking route descriptions and maps were excellent. Transfers and ferry trips were all very smooth. All local people we dealt with were very friendly and helpful.Edwina Jones review 21 Aug 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
We loved all the walks which are through varied landscapes and the excitment of waiting for the boats to take us to the next island. Rowing to the last island on the islnd hopping trail was entertaining - luckily we joined up with a couple of Swedish girls who were more proficient than us at rowing. The Stockholm archipelago is absolutely delightful and a great alternative to southern Europe in high summer.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
Although we went in mid August the summer season is nearing its end. We were very lucky with weather and walked all week in short sleeved teeshirts. It is surprisingly warm compared to say the north of Scotland.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Sweden seems very environmentally conscious - no rubbish or litter anywhere. Being largely on car free islands was very welcome and a bit of a shock to the system coming back to Stockholm. It is possible to support local shops, cafes and restaurants although the generous breakfasts at every overnight stop keep you going throughout the day.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
The organisation was exemplary. All the boat tickets with timetables were provided, the route notes were excellent which combined with the walking app made it very easy to navigate. We loved this hoiday and very much plan to return.Pierluigi Poggiolini review 7 Aug 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
The Island Hopping day at Svartso. Fabulous.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
I'd tell them: Keep in mind it's mostly hiking in sparsely populated areas. If you are looking for glamour, this is not for you.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It certainly benefited the local economy... We spent heaps of money on restaurants and cafés, mostly. As for conservation, perhaps. As for environmental impact, of course not. We flew in, we did not particularly pay attention to any specific impact reduction. However, we definitely avoided littering the wilderness and recycled all recyclable. On the other hand, if anyone wanted zero impact from tourism they'd just have to shut down tourism. So, the solution is probably progress is clean energy production and electrification, not shutting down all human activities...4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Excellent, we enjoyed it very much. Carmen was great.Barbara Brown review 4 Jul 2023
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
All of the walks were lovely with interesting sights and sounds . We saw a red squirrel , badger and Orchids in the meadows. I particularly enjoyed the rowing across to an island.2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It is very useful to be able to use the tracking app which Carmen suggested. We were lucky to meet someone who was very familiar with the technology , we were not , certainly much easier than following map and written instructions.3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
Certainly used facilities which employed local people and bought food made on the islands.4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
