It was a great holiday. Our guide was very informative, the bus was very new and very comfortable. Apart from one night the accommodation was good and I would recommend a trip to Iceland. (more)Sara Warren

Seeing some of the geological wonders of Iceland. The visit to Heimaey was just one of the highlights but we rank it at the top.

Memorable parts?
The most memorable part of my trip was to see the puffins colony on the Grymsay Island.
Tips?
Be prepared for 2-3 stars accommodations in most of the places. Paying additional fee for private accommodations makes no sense- you will have to share the cabin for 3 nights with another person and a house for two nights with two bathrooms for 10 people. I paid a single supplement for a private accommodations but I
shared 5 out of 9 nights on this trip. Fortunately we ... (more)Barbara Miciak
Memorable parts?
Visiting the glacial lagoons and ice beach in South Iceland. The Lake at Myvatn - utterly serene and beautiful
Tips?
Be prepared for all weather conditions; be ready for some long journeys between some stopovers. Also toilets can be hard to find once off the beaten track.
Local benefits?
We stayed mainly in small, local guest houses /accommodations with local produce. It was an education it itself to see how carefully Iceland was trying to protect and ... (more)Lynne Wilson
The title of the holiday tells it all. Each day we visited different places of the unique beauty away from the crowds.

It was amazing expedition through central highlands of Iceland impossible to access for most of year. Landscape of infinite variety and tiny alpine plants to
take your breath away. (more)Moira Izzard
The holiday was so fantastic overall but the diamond beach and the glacier lagoon were perhaps the most memorable moments. Unforgettable!

A busy 3 days exploring all the beauty southern Iceland has to offer. Pack light as you move accommodation. It’s a basic rated trip so accommodation is often basic but clean and warm. (more)Chris Goldthorp
The best part was the Glacier walk. Amazing. (more)Valerie Deeth
3 of us were upgraded to a luxury chalet with a hot tub for free due to a cancellation that evening - and we sat in a hot tub in the middle of dark farmland and watched the northern lights! (more)Zara Wines

The quiet and dramatic landscape all around us.
Tips?
Unlike other guided treks I have been on, the leader is way out ahead of the paying walkers and not particularly accessible if immediate assistance is needed
(like navigating a particularly treacherous part of the trail), or if one has questions about the what we are seeing. One needs to be aware of this and prepared.
Our leader was quite knowledgeable and was available to answer questions and point things ... (more)Daniel Katsin

Difficult to pinpoint so overall the amazing landscapes in Iceland. We saw a range - from icebergs in a beach with black sand to the current naughty volcano on the horizon. I also loved the tectonic plates setting at the Golden Circle for its early political-parliamentary symbolism.
Tips?
Don't assume you will see the aurora with the naked eye. If you do you are lucky! But cameras pick up the physics and the light shows.

Seeing Samarkand and Khiva, the latter where we stayed inside the ramparts. Seeing the lovely tiled mausoleums, mosques, and palaces.
Tips?
It is very busy, You are on the go, morning, noon and night and with the group virtually every moment of the holiday so be prepared for this.
Local benefits?
Yes, we went around several local handicraft places in each city where artisans were making pottery or painting or weaving so it could have benefited them, ... (more)Jackie Whittakee

Walking up My. Hverfjall. It was hard going on the ash but great to reach the top and see inside the crater. Also, walking along the lava flow from the volcano which erupted last March
Tips?
Take your camera and walking shoes/boots. Do everything! You can rest when you get home.
Local benefits?
We used local shops, restaurants and hotels.

The trip was awesome. The best from the operator were the hotels and bed and breakfast places selection. They were very charming places. (more)Nelson Dumas
We saw places we never would have thought of on our own and everywhere we stayed was either a great hotel or in a beautiful setting or, most often, both. (more)Jane Colman
The most memorable was snorkelling in Silfra and exploring Reynisfjara Beach. We got really lucky and had 100% sunshine and 0 precipitation the entire 45 days we were there. (more)Charles Ross
