The countryside we travelled through and the wildlife encounters.
Tips?
Use of a satnav rather than reliance on signposts & maps. Seemed that sign posts in Quebec Province weren’t that important to locals.

There were so many memorable and exciting parts to this trip it’s hard to choose. The absolute highlights were canoeing to a remote campsite, whitewater rafting and the guided tour of a glacier. (more)Liz Fitzsimons

Check before booking a single supplement as I did & was the only single lady on the tour so chances are I’d have been given a single room without extra charge!

Get good camera, binoculars and plenty of money for food Canada is more expensive than UK- go to Gov site ONLY to get ETA.

Icebergs, whales, moose and black bear - it is hard to pick just one.
Tips?
If you like the outdoors there is no shortage of things to do. Don’t underestimate the time needed to see Newfoundland properly.
Local benefits?
Yes. Everyone that we interacted with was local. Their summer season is very short and all of the local owners seemed happy to have us so that they can make the most of the short season.

Seeing killer whales from my kayak
Tips?
Find a Tourguide/company that will actually allow time to be in your kayak and watch the whales from your kayak instead of from camp
Local benefits?
It helped the locals yes as the Tourguide’s where local. Kayaking is not bad for the
environment and the way the camps where set up is also not destroying much habitat
