Memorable parts? Visiting the site of Uxmal was the best as it had very few people in so we could really explore. Tips? Mexico is a big country so there was also quite a lot of transportation involved - be prepared! Local benefits? Benefited local people - Yes as we visited local communities and our guide always recommended local sellers if we want to buy art and crafts. Memorable parts? Our trip was fantastic. It’s hard to know where to start in describing it as we did so much. Firstly our guides were great. We had three, Luis in Mexico City, Edwin for the tour down to Merida then Mariano on the last day. It was really impressive how knowledgeable they all were on the history and culture of every place we went to. They took every care to look after us and make everything work for us. Memorable parts? The kayaking camping snorkelling every day seeing fin whales and about 30 dolphins at sunset. Ospreys and tons of other birds and fish, eels, octopus, crabs, tarantulas, different plants and geological features..... just an awesome experience. Tips? Don't bring a mirror!
