Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONREDUCED FLIGHT: We're staunchly dedicated to promoting eco-friendly initiatives, particularly focusing on minimizing carbon emissions. Central to our tour's blueprint is the aim to diminish our environmental impact. Within our thoughtfully curated 14-day journey, we've reduced domestic flights to only one at the end of the tour, leading to a more eco-friendly travel adventure. However, travelers who like to avoid flights for even more eco-friendly tours would have the option to drive back to Tehran from Kerman with a car on a 12-hour road trip.
VEGETARIAN & VEGAN FOOD: Our 14-day itinerary offers guests a variety of dining venues, with most providing daily vegetarian choices tailored to different dietary needs. Many also feature vegan menu items, allowing travelers to choose plant-derived meals. This not only meets varied dietary lifestyles but also champions a lower carbon footprint throughout the trip, aligning with green travel tenets and enabling a balance between sustainable living and travel pleasure.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
WASTE REDUCTION: In Iran, the low cost of plastic has spurred its rampant use. Acknowledging this, our tours emphasize eco-sustainability. Beyond mere advocacy against plastic, we actively endorse travelers using reusable bags, thus limiting the demand for disposable plastic bags. Additionally, food wastage, often a byproduct of Iran's generous meal portions, is a concern we actively address. We inform our guests about local portion sizes, guiding judicious ordering. For any uneaten food, we encourage packing, potentially serving as a meal for someone in need.
STREET ANIMALS: Our commitment extends to ensuring ecological harmony. Especially in areas like Iran, where cats are common urban animals, feeding them can unintentionally disturb the natural balance, potentially leading to overpopulation. This seemingly simple act can have unintended ripple effects on the local environment. Therefore, we enlighten our travelers on ethical and mindful animal interactions, underscoring our dedication to conscientious and green travel habits.
People
LOCAL ECONOMYEMBRACING LOCAL INTERACTIONS: Iran's vibrant culture is greatly accentuated by its people's exceptional warmth, a feature many of our guests frequently highlight. To capitalize on this distinct cultural asset, our tours incorporate a “local immersion” component. This element not only deepens visitors' understanding of Iranian life but also cultivates authentic relationships with the locals. Our seasoned guides are instrumental in navigating any cultural or language barriers, facilitating smooth exchanges. Aware of the diverse cultural fabric of Iran, we've set forth ethical standards for these engagements, ensuring travelers interact with locals in a manner that's both considerate and enlightening.
SUPPORTING LOCAL ARTISANS: Our 14-day expedition takes guests on a vibrant exploration of the iconic Bazaars in different cities. More than just markets, they're lively epicenters of heritage, customs, and trade. Standing apart from today's globalized retail scenes, these Bazaars have preserved their indigenous allure. They host numerous grassroots enterprises, several doubling as artisanal workshops. In such settings, the distinction between an artisan and a vendor fades, granting visitors the captivating view of creations taking form. By spotlighting these venues, we aim to not only exhibit Iranian traditions but also robustly support native craftsmen, ensuring guests witness the true essence of Iranian life while uplifting local entrepreneurship.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
LOCALLY OPERATED: We boast that every individual contributing to our tours is an Iranian local. Ranging from our adept guides and proficient drivers to our agile customer care and administration teams, each position is occupied by an Iranian. Such an approach guarantees guests a genuine Iranian experience and also means that the financial gains from our business enrich the local community, fueling its growth and prosperity.
FAIR COMPENSATION: We're dedicated to cultivating lasting, positive affiliations with our employees. With this in mind, we commit to compensating our staff considerably above the mandated minimum wage in our operating areas. By sticking to this ethos, we foster a positive and driven workspace and also enhance our employees' overall contentment, guaranteeing enduring excellence in our tours.
