Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Iran is a country where 'green' policies and principles are not exactly buzz words so it's all about the little things adding up to slowly start to make a difference. We are always talking to our local ground agents about the importance of stressing to clients the importance of basic responsible principles such as appropriate waste disposal, not to waste water, turning off lights on leaving the room in hotels, not replacing towels and bedding daily etc.We stay at hotels and guesthouses where owned, managed and run by locals and serving of local foods with zero transport miles.
We do not leave any foreign materials or waste in environment, nor do we take any objects from the environment nor disturb its equilibrium by our presence or actions.
We attempt to reduce the use of single use plastic water bottles by providing water bottles and actively encourage our customers to use them.
We also encourage our guests to eat at local restaurants where local food is served which helps to reduce carbon where food transport is concerned.
We schedule our itineraries day by day according to sites where are near to each others, It helps us to keep our carbon footprints down. Therefore, we have walking tours during city tours and bazaars.
At cultural sites we take care to minimize impact and inform our guests not to touch relics and fragile monuments so these are preserved for generations to come.
People
All aspects of this trip are operated by local Iranians including all of our leaders, drivers and accommodation providers. We believe the best food in Iran is found in homes not restaurants. Iran isnt known for its great cafes, its known for its hospitality and locally cooked food. Also, this means your money stays in the area to benefit the local community and any of the activities done on this trip are helping the local economic development.
For example, we include visits to the Tehran Bazaar - you have the opportunity to support local producers and artisans here by buying local produce from the stalls. The Qeisarieh Bazaar is also a wonderful place to support local artisans - with hundreds of local vendors that specialize in traditional arts and crafts.
Our groups are maximum 6 clients. This has much less impact when travelling through rural areas, reducing our environmental and social affects.
