Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
The tour offers participants an understanding of the cultural, social and economic diversity of Ivory Coast as well the hospitality of local people. We work hard to ensure positive impacts to the local communities and surroundings that we encounter, and encourage travelers to contribute items that are inexpensive and easy to pack such as pens for children in schools and recycled clothing.
We spend time visiting some of the most remote communities in this tour and we place a great emphasis on treading sensitively. Where possible we purchase supplies along the way, this makes a significant input into the local economy of villages which otherwise have little opportunity to trade.
Additionally, we with hotels and guest houses to implement best practices when it comes to environmental matters. We visit these hotels along with our local team to give a presentation on environmental concerns and assist them when setting up solar panels as well as turning off lights and electrical appliances that are not being used.
Travelers on this trip are not allowed to litter the environment but are rather encouraged to sensitize the visited communities on environmental protection issues such as recycling of waste materials.
People
Our cultural tour of the Ivory Coast offers a unique and authentic experience of the country's traditions and people. Participants visit remote villages such as Kondeyaokro and Toro to watch fantastic initiation dances, and immerse themselves in the daily lives of the local Ivorian people. This interaction helps travelers to share their experiences with the locals and also learn their fascinating culture. We also patronize locally owned accommodations on trip, many of which buy their food produce from local suppliers spreading our business to a variety of local restaurants .The revenue generated stay in the communities and is used to enhance the local community in the areas of providing basic amenities such as portable drinking water.
To ensure we give the best experience to travelers we use local crew throughout this tour who can give that unique insight into their culture and customs which really enhances our trip, as well as generating local employment and delivering direct economic benefits to the areas we visit.
