Description of Lanzarote north coast villa holiday, Canary Islands

This spacious and airy villa, close to the traditional fishing village of Punta Mujures on Lanzarote’s picturesque north coast, is the ideal place for a relaxed family getaway. Part of a stylish eco-complex set just back from the beach, the apartment offers shared use of a solar-heated swimming pool and exceptional facilities, including a private south-facing terrace, and a master bedroom with sea views from its balcony.

The village, with plenty of restaurants and shops, is just a five minute walk away. Punta Mujures is also known for its unusual tidal sea pools that are perfect for elderly people and young children as they are protected from the waves. Nearby, there is a pebble horse-shoe bay that’s great for snorkelling and swimming, while the area around the complex has several scenic cycling and walking routes.

Your self-catering Lanzarote holiday apartment is equipped with families in mind, especially those with younger children. This is a family-run business, and no effort is spared in ensuring that you have everything you need for a relaxing stay.

The mountain village of Haria, with an artisan weekend market, and the famous Cactus Garden, are both a short drive away. You can't really avoid flying to Lanzarote, but if you require car hire during your stay, an eco-friendly hybrid model can be arranged for you. As another way of minimising your holiday’s carbon footprint, your hosts will be more than happy to help you find a selection of great restaurants and shops in the area offering local food.

There are also plenty of golden sandy beaches in the vicinity of Punta Mujures, some with surf breaks, others simply lovely for a little beachcombing. All in all, this apartment is a fantastic place for you and your family to sink into the slow pace of Lanzarote life in style.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

Green credentials include, led lighting, A+ class electric appliances, solar pool heating, half flush toilets, local produce box available to guests, within walking/cycling distance to amenities.
Linen is changed weekly in order to save water.
Waste reduction: We encourage recycling and ask guests to use the containers for paper, glass and plastic recycling provided locally in the village. Blue for paper and cardboard, green for glass and yellow for plastic containers, tins and cartons.
We also ask clients to think about their water consumption whilst staying on the island and to use water sparingly and shower instead of having a full bath tub.
In our office we have low energy lighting, use laptops, reuse paper and recycle waste.
This northern area of Lanzarote has a diverse range of fauna and flora especially unusual and interesting species of marine birds. The island has provided a welcoming safe haven for a large variety of resident and migrating birds and we are committed to their conservation ensuring it stays this way.

If you are looking for a car during your holiday we offer Electric and Hybrid cars, just ask for a quote.

We also offer Holiday Extras which include our Paella night at Finca De Arrieta and Meals delivered you can choose vegetarian/plant-based and low dairy foods (which reduce CO2 emissions)

This particular holiday home has Solar water heater and the pool is solar heated.

People

We use local suppliers such as builders, trades men, laundrettes etc...
All the staff are people resident in the island so we create employment in the area.
We promote rural tourism and take measures to encourage our guests to spend and use facilities locally. We provide full information on local restaurants, local farmers markets, how to integrate with the local Canarian culture and purchase local products and even offer an optional local produce grocery box for arrival (additional charge).
Currently we sponsor the local Haria football team “Costa Norte” and recently organised the T shirts for their new kit for the 2016 season.
We also sponsor the local Punta Mujeres bowling club, a very popular sport in the Canary Islands. Canarian bowls (bola Canaria) is a sport that requires precision throwing. The game bears many similarities to the game of pétanque. The objective of the game is to situate the bowl as close as possible to the target, referred to as the 'boliche' or 'mingue'. There are areas dedicated to this sport in almost every village and is a very competitive sport in the Canary Islands with its own federation and league.
