Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Most local villages don’t have environmentally sound trash management systems. Guides will provide information on how to protect the environment e.g. trying to purchase produce which are not wrapped in plastic and avoid using disposable plastic shopping bags. We encourage you to protect the environment by not littering and by taking all non disposable items back home with you. Pack your garbage out to larger towns or cities and dispose of garbage in proper places. If there is no toilet, dig a hole at least 25cm deep and bury human waste. Burn or bury toilet paper. Never buy products made from endangered wildlife or endangered plants. Avoid bathing or washing clothes in streams, etc.We use standard hotels/lodges/restaurants operated by local Tibetan people. All hotels/lodges/restaurants minimise the impact on the environment by using kerosene/gas fuel instead of fire wood.
We take only small groups with a maximum of 4 to12 people help to minimize the impact on the environment.
People
We have always believed is tourism industry which attempts to make a low impact on the natural environment and local culture. Also helping to generate income and employment for local people. And to promote the conservation of local ecosystems. It is responsible tourism which is both ecologically and culturally sensitive. The locals have major roles to play in sustainable tourism. It involves locals participating actively and taking responsibility in this tourism industry. During the tour we use local products like; fresh fruits, vegetables, drinks etc. Purchasing from locally sourced providers can generate some income for the local community. And we encourage local Tibetan people to sell local handmade authentic handicrafts or simply talk with tourists to give them an authentic image of the local culture.
We try to maximise our contribution to the local community in Tibet by using local familiar Tibetan guides and drivers who are knowledgeable about local culture, we also eat in local restaurants. In this trip we stay at standard hotels/lodges operated by local Tibetan people.
In Tsedang, there is a very basic school. We support schools by donating an amount of educational and health materials to children through Tibetan local guides. A percentage of its profits goes to charity organization “Chhahari Group Nepal”.
Most remote school are financially supported by the government access to learning materials. However, restricted by access to cities to purchase supplies. In some villages, our Tibetan guide have developed the relations with schools and we support by donating an amount of education and health materials to children through Tibetan local guide.
We are in partnership with registered charity organization “Chhahari Group Nepal”. 10% of its profits, goes to charity organization and also we support educational and medical materials. The organization serves the Nepalese society since 2001. Most projects funded by them directly benefit the local community who have suffered by natural or political issues. Many other projects directly or indirectly benefit our citizens, e.g. orphanage home, community school, health camp, scholarship program etc. At the moment we are helping to run a free community school for very poor families who can’t afford to send their kids to school.
