CARBON REDUCTION:This luxury honeymoon itinerary has been created to ensure that it has a positive impact on the environment. We encourage travellers to prioritise a trip further away for longer rathern then several shorter trips throughout the year.
One of the accommodations The Pearl Resorts of Tahiti are partly solar-powered and also In Bora Bora, the hotel launched the Okeanos Pearl which is the first luxury solar-powered catamaran that ensures that it is respectful of the lagoon and completely silent. Another aspect that the hotel takes pride in is using the food waste for compost which enriches the vegetable patches where we grow our herbs, fruit and vegetables, and the chefs use products from local organic farms and short supply chains.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE:
It is important that we hand-pick lodges that have a positive impact on the environment and actively preserve this for future generations.
At one of the accommodations in this itinerary, The Conrad Bora Bora cares about the environment, taking careful actions to protect its surrounding coral reef. The resort has constructed a technology programme which helps regenerate the coral gardens – it’s called the “Biorock” programme. In this way, the sea life which inhabits the area is provided with a healthy ecosystem.

LOCAL ECONOMY:We promote small lodges that have a positive impact on their surroundings and give back to the local community.
For example The Pearl Resorts Le Tahiti make a point of supporting local culture and jobs to ensure that income goes back into the local community. In the hotel shop, they showcase beautiful creations from local Polynesian craftsmen as well who offer various cultural activities. As mention above the chefs from this hotel source local ingredients where possible and favour short supply chains which in turn supports the local area.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY:
When guests venture out on excursions we choose accommodations that use local guides which we believe offers a more authentic and educational experience for guests. It is very important to us that the money goes back into the local economy to aid the local communities where guests are visiting. For example Le Bora Bora by Pearl Resorts we nurture the development of our own staff, many of whom are artisans and artists.
