1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

Finishing a safari evening drive with a
drink by the river where a herd of
elephants were crossing and playing
in the water

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Don't just focus on the big stuff.
There's so much incredible other
wildlife that it's good to look beyond
the leopards. Also don't worry about
going "out of season". Long grass
might make it harder to see the big
cats, but the brilliant guides give you a
great chance of finding them and
there are loads of baby animals
around.

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

Yes, we heard a lot about the work
done in ruaha by all the lodges and got
to know a lot of the staff who were all
local people. You could tell they loved
and cared about where they lived.

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

Perfectly advised, flawlessly organised
and comprised of an almost
overwhelming stream of incredible
moments. My wife described the
safari section as "the best continuous
four days of my life" and then we went
on to do some lovely diving and spend
a few days on whale shark watch by
the beach. It was simply amazing, start
to finish.

Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

We have put this itinerary together with a focus on ensuring you can experience two of the world's top holiday destinations. The properties are chosen not only because of the brilliant service and style but because they are in line with our ethos.

The conservancies in the Greater Kruger ecosystem operate in a responsible and sustainable way with long term conservation at the heart of every action. You can be safe in the knowledge that your stay is helping to educate local staff and further efforts in anti-poaching. Benefitting livelihoods and increasing species resilience.

We only work with camps we've been to ourselves and in many cases we'll even have specific guides to recommend you, so we know that our recommendations meet our high standards.

People

Whilst we are always trying to ensure our guests experience the best properties and destinations possible, our ethos about responsible travel is extremely important to us.

We have selected the properties on this itinerary with sustainable and responsible tourism in mind. The hotels also make a huge effort to train and employ local staff from within the nearby towns and villages, to retain a sense of place and to engage with the local community as stakeholders.

We encourage all our travellers to research local customs and read your trip notes before you depart to ensure you are conscientious and respectful in a different culture. In most cases we strongly recommend that you do not give money to children beggars. If begging is a successful enterprise, parents are encouraged to forsake their children’s education in pursuit of this opportunity.

As a company we are founded in the roots of providing responsible and sustainable holidays. This means we seek to partner with local suppliers who provide fair wages, to use accommodation where community and environment are considered and to look at every opportunity for making our holidays as fair to local people and places as possible.
