Description of Luxury yurt accommodation in Lanzarote, Canary Islands
This yurt accommodation in Lanzarote is part of a family run finca, dedicated to creating an exquisite eco village in the heart of northern Lanzarote. Just five minutes’ walk from Arrieta beach, a favourite with locals and another world from the resort beaches of the south, this yurt is perfectly located.
The ‘Finca de Arrieta’ is an exemplary eco retreat, with all power provided by wind and solar technology.
While relaxing at the yurt, we hope you enjoy our lovingly designed luxuries, including the Mongolian hard wood floor, luxury fabrics, walk in shower, outdoor kitchen and private, south facing patio. We also have a 10m solar heated pool for all guests to use, with superb views of our volcanic environs as well as a day bed for those midday siestas, or to cool down as the sun sets.
Lanzarote is perfect for either chilling out in our year round fine weather, or enjoying some of our many activities which we will help organise for you. These include surfing, windsurfing, road cycling, hiking or visits to the nearby island of Graciosa. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and supermarkets in the fishing village of Arrieta, all just a quick walk away, along the beach.
We pride ourselves on being a family orientated finca, our own children having grown up here. Facilities for children include our gated pool area, resident donkey, hens, trampoline, table tennis and our family of farm cats and dogs. We also offer a babysitting service. For families of babies, please just ask, as we have all the equipment you will need, and many of our clients have come here with babies and come back every year as their children get older. We love to welcome all our guests back, but in particular, delight at seeing the children grow and enjoying the finca in new ways with each year.

Being able to walk to a great family beach (Arrieta) with spanish holidaymakers mainly. Our teenagers felt free to go swimming, body boarding & surfing. After a day of swimming or discovering the island it felt good to come back to the Eco Cabin with its pergola and small garden with fruit trees (fig, orange, mango, apple). Environment:The eco yurt and all 17 properties are "Off the National Grid" and give guests the opportunity to experience firsthand, living with solar panels and wind turbines and using the latest renewable energy systems. We have installed the most up to date energy systems on offer, and they work very efficiently. The system here is the largest on Lanzarote and runs on a 48 Volt system and has no problem powering the 12 dwellings on site. Other Green credentials include use of grey water, LED lighting, solar pool heating, use of well water for pool, A+ class Fridge, organic fruit and veg and within walking/cycling distance to amenities.
Other environmental practices we follow:
- Waste reduction: We encourage recycling and have bins locally. Any organic waste can be given to our chickens.
- Conserving water: We ask client to be use water sparingly. We use our own well water which is used for the swimming pool, we also use our grey water on our palm trees.
- Conserving electricity: We use only Wind turbines and solar panels
- Encouraging wildlife: We have planted many native trees and bushes to encourage birds.
- Building materialsL: the entire retreat has been built using stone from the 30,000 meter estate.
- The well and water tanks which are on the land and originally used for irrigating the farm land have been fully restored.
- Measures to educate staff & guests about our environmental practices - We educate guests/staff and local schools on the eco energy system provided.
- Office practices: We have low energy lighting, and reuse paper.
Whilst staying at this villa you can walk to the beach and beach front restaurants it's just 300 meters.
We also offer holiday extras which include our paella night and meals delivered; you can choose vegetarian/plant-based and low dairy foods (which reduce CO2 emissions)
This particular holiday home has Solar water heater.
