Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

CARBON REDUCTIONDespite being over three weeks long this tour takes pride in showcasing the best of Mexico without the need for any domestic flights, taking in every location solely overland by road, minimising the impact of flying.
With all of our Mexico tours we provide a pre-departure guide outlining ways in which locally, guests can minimise their carbon impact and unless where there is no other option, we endeavour to always use hotels that have similar values with regards to the environment including no use of single use plastics, using renewable and sustainable energy when available and have positive eco practices.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
Though vegetarian food is less prominent in the smaller less developed areas in this trip, Mexico produces some of the finest fruit and vegetables in the world and the staple tortilla is prevalent throughout so eating meat free is relatively easy here as well as delicious.
In some areas on this trip (not many) but for example Palenque, there is the chance to encounter wildlife, birds, monkeys, small cats at times. Our guides ensure that at all times our guests are aware of their habitat and respect the guidelines in place to have minimal impact on this.

LOCAL ECONOMYOur slow travel itinerary is designed so you can spend more time in each area, spreading the financial benefits of tourism wider and deeper into communities less visited than on a classic highlights itinerary. You'll see places on this itinerary that 90% of international tourists to Mexico won't make it to and spread the wealth of tourism to the same areas.
All of the hotels are either independently run Mexican owned or small boutique properties we do not use any international hotels or chains ensuring that as much of the benefits of tourism as possible go back into the local economy.
On each stop of this trip there is experience included that takes you off the usual tourist route to give you a more authentic experience and an opportunity to interact with locals.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
Many of our guides first job was with our partners and they remain there today. They were fully training and given an opportunity to work in the tourism industry. Some of those came from disadvantaged backgrounds and entered the tourism market through internship programmes provided.
