Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

As a responsible tour operator, we pride ourselves on only working with local, independent partners who share in our passion to positively impact our local communities and environment.

On your guided walk you'll learn about the wild plant and animal life that thrives in this rural area of North East Wales. And by keeping our group numbers low, we're careful not to cause damage to the delicate balance of nature.

You'll be walking from the door of your accommodation, so once you're here no additional transport is needed during your stay, ensuring your footprint remains as low as possible.

Much of the food you'll enjoy during your stay is also sourced locally, working with the seasons and further ensuring a low carbon footprint for your break.

And in addition, every guest receives a reusable water bottle which you can refill each day to avoid the need to buy single-use plastic bottles. We encourage you to take this away with you at the end of your stay and continue using this instead of ever needing to buy plastic bottles again.

People

At the heart of everything we do is a passion to support our local community. One of the best ways we can do this is to solely work with local independent partners, all of whom are equally passionate about supporting the community in which they're based. Finding employment in rural areas has always been a challenge, and the highs and lows of the seasons makes jobs in tourism notoriously difficult to manage.

By providing out of season breaks, we're helping to contribute toward a continuous source of income for our local partners.

You're walking guide is Belinda and she is passionate about the outdoors and its powerful effects in helping others to find themselves. As a qualified Lowland Walks Leader, Mindfulness Teacher and registered member of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP), her approach is integrative with a focus on mindfulness and mindful compassion.

Her walking habit began as a youngster and gained traction as a way to recovery after experiencing trauma. Belinda loves to take her meditation and self-care practice outdoors, and recognises the therapeutic value it brings to others on her guided walks.

Your accommodation for the weekend is a traditional Welsh inn, independently owned and a local employer. The ingredients for their delicious meals are sourced from local farmers wherever possible, yet further supporting the community and its rural economy. And don't forget to sample the local ales and gins you'll find behind the bar!
