Nangma Valley trekking holiday in Pakistan
Description of Nangma Valley trekking holiday in Pakistan
Some call it Pakistan’s Yosemite. The mountaineer Eduard Koblmiller was struck by its ‘primordial beauty’, and climbers and hikers are smitten as much by the scenery as they are by the challenge. This Nangma Valley trekking holiday is sheer spectacle.
Fly from Islamabad to Skardu (or drive the famous Karakoram Highway if the weather is unsuitable for the flight) then continue on to Khaplu, Yugo and Kanday by road. Then you begin your trekking, through lush meadows and with towering rock faces soaring into the clouds around you. Basing yourselves at the Mingulo Broq campsite (3,500m) you’ll embark on relaxed day hikes around the valley, led by local guides. Enjoy some stunning sunrises and sunsets in this absolutely majestic place.
After three nights of full service camping in the valley, return via Kanday. Before leaving the region you’ll be invited into the home of a local family to share a traditional meal with them, and learn a little of their ways of life.
Your trip also contributes to the local economy by hiring local guides and porters, while a donation is also made for every group to a village organisation that helps with trail maintenance and other projects. In such a remote place, even small financial contributions can go a very long way.
