Description of Panama holidays, Snorkelling reefs & jungle trails
This two week Panama holiday is a tailor made trip which takes in this most underrated country’s delights, from snorkelling around the deserted islands of the Golfo de Chiriqui Marine National Park to hiking amongst the jagged peaks of El Valle de Anton’s volcanic terrain.
This is a relatively small country for Central America, and in two weeks you can take time to spend a two or three days in each place enjoying all sides of it. The Caribbean and the Pacific, the mountainous and the coastal. The coffee plantations and cloud forests around Boquete to the colossal construction of the Panama Canal.
This trip starts and ends in Panama City, a glamorous high rise metropolis with its contrasting Viejo Old Quarter, crumbling colonial mansions and Spanish convents. Staying in small, locally owned boutique hotels or guesthouses throughout, you can hire a car on this trip or arrange for private transfers if that suits you better.

The variation from a modern and old city, mountains, forests, coasts and friendly people. There was a lot of travelling but we did see a lot of the different parts of the country. Very memorable. Read full reviewResponsible Travel
Planet
We aim to use accommodation that shares our values when it comes to the environment. Many buildings in Panama have been restored for alternative purposes. A very good example of this is our accommodation in Bocas del Toro which is over 100 years old and started life as the head quarters of the United Fruit Company. Many of our small boutique guest houses are committed to supporting the environment with their food and waste recycling practices.
We also believe that it is important to minimise impact on the air and so two of the exciting excursion options included in this trip are there to do just this. While you're in Pedasi you'll get to explore the laid back town on the Pacific coast by bike which you'll have for the day along with various route maps to follow. While you're in El Valle de Anton, a town nestled in the crater of an extinct volcano, we'll provide you with helpful route descriptions to explore the lush forests that have grown here.

We are constantly looking for meaningful trips which give back to the communities and adds something really special to our customer's experience in Panama. During this itinerary you will spend a couple of nights in Boquete, our coffee tour here seeks to support local farmers in the area. In Panama there are no co-operatives for local farmers so the farm you visit will reap all the rewards of your visit. You'll get to know all about coffee from the fruit stage to the tasting stage and you'll see exactly what agricultural life is like in Panama today.Throughout our trips we use local guides and drivers who are there to pass on their specialist expertise to our customers, just ask away - the more you ask the more you get out of the whole experience. By having a local guide specific to each area you gain both insight and experience of what life is really like in each of these incredible destinations.
We also encourage our customers to eat in local cafes and restaurants to support the local communities even more.
In all our destinations we offer our customers the opportunity to donate to a local project, in Panama we have chosen to support the Esperanza Social Venture Club. a gang intervention and reintegration program based in the evolving historic district of Casco Viejo, Panama City. Once a hotbed of gang activity, this is now a thriving district of art, culture, and architecture. In order to preserve an element of human patrimony, Esperanza’s non-profit initiatives assure that young at-risk males get to take part in the neighborhood’s growth, by providing help with mental and physical health as well as coaching to enter the workforce.
