Responsible Travel

As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.

Planet

There is a big push in Southeast Asia currently to reduce plastic waste and we use a number of hotels who work with Refill not Landfill. Refillable water bottles are provided by some hotels and 'one use' plastics are limited.

The use of boats is also a more eco-friendly way to explore the countries and does not have such an adverse effect on the environment.

Travelling by bicycle, cyclo or on foot for many of the excursions mean that environmental impact has been kept to a minimum.

People

We’re committed to making your trip have a positive effect on the destination you’re visiting.

What we’re committed to:

Using locally owned, and environmentally and socially responsible, accommodation wherever possible.

Preference for locally owned partners in our destinations, and using local guides and drivers. In the Philippines local guides are used in even the most remote areas thus creating jobs for local people and giving the visitor an authentic learning experience.

Fair wages and conditions for all staff involved in your trip.

Wild and domestic animal protection alongside broader good environmental practice. We avoid promoting or using any artificial wildlife experience where animals are baited or fed in order to gain closer proximity.

Encouraging community-led initiatives from craft shops to restaurants, home stays to wildlife protection. We support a number of independent restaurants who use locally sourced ingredients from nearby farmers.

Supporting a range of on-the-ground charities and projects that work within our destinations.
