Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
CARBON REDUCTIONDuring the tour, we will use a combination of public buses and trains, which is an effective way to lower your carbon footprint, while also allowing you to experience the local culture and enjoy the scenic views.
You can also expect to do a lot of walking in each location, providing you with light exercise and contributing to reducing the carbon footprint on the planet.
We always recommend our travellers to pack lightly for the trip. This makes travelling more comfortable when carrying luggage, however reducing the weight will also reduce fuel use when flying and thus reducing the carbon emission.
Our South Korea Team and Adventure Leader are made aware of our travellers dietary restrictions, and are happy to recommend places to find vegetarian and vegan food throughout the tour.
ENVIRONMENT AND WILDLIFE
We understand that the use of Snow Cannons may be used in ski resorts when there is less snow fall. Many resorts now use snow cannons to guarantee powder throughout the holidays, but this is environmentally very damaging, particularly due to the vast quantities of water used. At Vivaldi Ski Resort, they offer many other activities to take part in when there is less snow. During the Winter Season, they offer activities like a bowling alley, go-karts, singing rooms, screen sports and amusement park, plus a shopping mall also located on site, plus an outdoor “luge” track (not the Olympic sport, more like downhill kart racing with no motors).
During the tour you will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscapes that Korea has to offer. Marvel at the mountains that surround Seoul or brave the slopes and enjoy the scenic views as you coast down. This is a great way of seeing the place you are in and reducing carbon footprints along the way. Explore the coastline in Busan and take a stroll along the beach to connect with nature, listen to the crashing waves and appreciate the wonderful world we live in.
In South Korea, recycling is extremely important and our leaders will actively encourage travellers to do their part in reducing what goes to landfill, and responsibly disposing of food waste, garbage and recycling
Top Tips:
We recommend packing a reusable water bottle to minimise the use of plastic bottles. There are many filtered water refill points available throughout the tour.

LOCAL ECONOMYAll of our accommodations are locally owned and committed to environmental sustainability. We will be staying in hotels, a campsite and a traditional Hanok. We encourage you to use local services during your stay to support the local community and economy.
A Hanok experience is a must-have while in South Korea, as its offers an insight into the local religion and culture. To show respect, we believe that it is important for travellers to learn a few key phrases in the native language, so we offer classes to learn Korean and about the local culture.
We ensure that all of our customers' interactions are with local suppliers and provide opportunities for authentic cultural immersion through our "unmissable" included activities and optional activities. Our Adventure Leaders are trained to educate customers on local customs and traditions, including appropriate times for taking photos or videos. Our focus is on promoting integration between travellers and local people to create a positive impact on the community.
EMPLOYMENT, INCLUSIVITY AND DIVERSITY
We pride ourselves on providing local tour guides who are natives or bilingual, ensuring that you get an authentic experience while supporting the local community through job creation.
We are a LGBT-friendly travel operator, so you’ll feel safe travelling with us, whatever your way of life – that means no judging and no harassing!
